The burn pattern indicates an accelerate might have been used.  But further investigation into the testing of burn pattern has the indication that it could have been the foam from the couch that caused the fire. 
Once ignited the foam will produce high levels of heat along with smoke. When the foam is on fire the material will melt and drip downward on to the surface below. This is the burn pattern seen by the couch.

  • Blood finger print downstairs bathroom.
  • Sandra's attempt to take her live prior to fire.
  • Bruising around neck from electrical cord from prior attempt to take her life.
  • Bloody shirt found in laundry hamper in the downstairs bathroom.
  • "TOM was a heavy drinker and smoker" on Toxicological report". Some in the lab typed the wrong name one the report.
  • Failure By the State to provide critical information for valid analysis. 
  • The state only gave a few photos of the crime scene and the Initial report of the fire investigation.
  • A scientific analysis was not done on the initial fire investigation.
  • The scientific method for the hypothesis was also not followed in the initial investigation according to Dr. James G. Munger.

We believe the fire was started in the living room because of the foam on the couch that had started the fire. We know that the once the foam is ignited it will produce high levels of heat along with smoke. According to the evidence report we are able to determine that it was an accident because there were several samples that were taken from the crime scene, and both sample 3 and sample one are a match that suggests that gasoline was what caused the fire. We also suspect that the victim either tried killing herself or that it was an accident because alcohol was present in the victim. Munger we believe that this investigation was a accident. We believe that the information that we have points to Sandra Maloney passing out after drinking with a lit cigarette which made the couch catch on fire. Thus making the fire and death an accident.  We would say that the investigation was done wrong from the beginning.
