Coronary artery disease has been the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide for years. Controlled studies have shown that Nursing Care Interventions, also known as NCIs, are beneficial for coronary artery disease patients. Coronary artery disease starts by the arteries being blocked with a buildup of calcium, cholesterol, and abnormal cells (Ramadhani et al., 2019). Care for cardiac patients have improved over the last two decades due to pharmacology, modification of cardiac risk factors, patient education, and surgical approaches. Nurses play a critical role in patient's lives after they have been diagnosed with coronary artery disease. Nurses have to be a counselor and an educator when it comes to helping patients understand complex therapies that are involved in treating coronary artery disease. Nurses also had to help patients prepare to return to normal activities following their discharge. Activities that patients needed to be prepared for involved understanding the importance of lifestyle and risk factor modification as well as risk reduction like weight management, nutrition, smoking cessation, diet, and physical activity (Ramadhani et al., 2019). Nurses take on key roles in managing the risk factors of coronary artery disease. The risk factors include hypertension, diabetes, smoking, and lipid control (Ramadhani et al., 2019). Management of coronary artery disease and heart failure has been achieved through specialized clinics and programs provided in primary care, worksites, and cardiac rehabilitation. This study has shown that nurses have been delivering beneficial evidence-based nursing care interventions to hospitalized patients with coronary artery disease that matched significantly with patients' risk factors or coronary artery illness (Ramadhani et al., 2019).
