Women were overlooked by the community when welcomed to new jobs, the community didn't take it the best way most times because it was a big change back in the day.

"Like the women in congress, the female new comers on the state label weren't necessarily made to feel welcome," (Collins, 256).

Women started making changes as soon as they were able to. The community mostly being men. It was a big change for a woman to be in congress, it was a very high chair for a woman and it was something to be taken seriously because how the law is in a woman's hands. Thankfully it is now more common and isn't seen as a bad thing for a woman to have a job.

"However, once younger women started peeling off into other careers, the feeling of success began to dwindle a little. 'We saw real disrespect for the profession,' Weingarten said," (When Everything Changed, Collins).

This quote from the book "When Everything Changed" by Gail Collins is just one of the many quotes in the book that shows how society thought that women "ruined" the whole career thing for the community. She says the feeling of success starts to dwindle, why? Because women were also able to get into the same career that a male did, even though it did take them longer and it was so much harder for them to have that place.

If children are taught a history of largely male achievement, they receive the message that women are not as important of successful or able to achieve as much as men," (The Position of Women in History).

Although many Women have proved themselves strongly I really liked the idea of taking Dr. Shannon Curry as my inspiration because she is a Public Figure Criminal Psychologist that became well known because she shined in the court room in the Johnny Depp vs Amber Herd trial. I wanted to use her as someone in my project so I can tie my major into this project somehow and I found the perfect way how to do it.

She made a big move as women still were getting used to the new things around this point.

Although many women take power today in many different careers, women in law enforcement or in any criminal justice jobs are still very looked down on and underrated because it is a "male" classified job like it very much did start off.
" 'It still surprises me that I am often the only woman in a largely male enviornment,' says Amy W. Shulman," (A Woman's Place Is In The Courtroom, 2004).

In the article "A Woman's Place Is in The Courtroom", it proceeds to say how women are perfect for the courtroom because of the way our communication and listening skills balance each other out. Women are seen to respond and have open opinions and put aside differences and reach out to different audiences with a message that fits each one to try to not make it that we are hurting someone.

Women as lawyers are not seen as strong as a male lawyer. The stereotype is always going to be there is what it looks like. Comments being made and cases being assigned, "Other female lawyers complained that they were 'pushed into sex cases by the clerks and solicitors because of the perception that when the jury sees a woman they presume the defendant can't be guilty because otherwise she wouldn't defend him,' " (Sexism holds women back at the Bar, 2015).
