This landscape black and white image is clearly advertising fashion. My first initial thought and opinion of this particular photo was that the woman was wealthy and could afford the clothing and lavish lifestyle. She’s causally sitting, possibly at a cafe outdoors with her pedigree dog, fine wine and cigarette carton, watching the world go by showing off her designer clothes. Her eyes are almost looking down on the working class folks strolling by. My imagination can create a story from this one image, which in my opinion is what a great image is. The natural light from the outdoor world enhances the light fur on the dog and bright white elegant skin of the woman. A fast shutter speed was used to capture the facial expressions in the moment. I also think she has a hint of jealousy in her face. She could be envious of relationships of others and the realisation that money can’t buy happiness or love. Shallow focus of the image makes her and the dog stand out. Her body language and how her chin is resting on her hand could suggest she’s bored of her current lifestyle. In my view of this photograph the story suggests a sad and lonely woman who want’s to escape her current life, and is looking for hope and happiness elsewhere. The mood of this photograph is very dark and my first reaction to it was sorrow. Maybe she is running from a abusive relationship with her husband/boyfriend. She has her suitcase and seems to be looking or hoping for a passer by to take her to happiness. The black and white adds to the mood of the photograph and the lighting is mainly focused on the woman which my eye is drawn too. The image itself is full of personality, the angry emotion is perfectly captured in each one of these expression’s. Although each image is different they all have the same impact and power. The way the photo has been put together it’s as if it has movement and volume. In my head I can hear the scream’s and sudden rush of anger. His face take’s most of the lighting and the camera angle facing straight forward really adds to the impact. Studio light’s used to really light up his face so we can see the full emotion’s in the photograph. This could also represent mental health and how we feel inside our own mind’s when dealing with day to day life. Stephen as a big celebrity show’s his vulnerability and let’s us see the stresses that come’s with fame and fortune. To create this effect, as a group we researched different face painting idea’s on Pinterest. We had a variety of colour’s to choose from. In the studio we set up a U.V light and turned out the main light’s so the paint’s could really glow and stand out. I started off shoot using my tripod but I wasn’t happy with the angle’s and the close up’s. So my final image’s I took free hand. Not one of my favourite photographer’s but this is one of the few images that really captures my attention. I love the different shades of pinks and blues used throughout the photo. The mirror effect allows the photo to be turned and viewed from all angles, which could mean no matter how much she changes her looks or stands from the crowd she always looks the same to the rest of the world. I did a quick research on this image and it was taking for Lady Gaga’s album cover, she’s also wearing designer clothing and jewellery which could lead to fashion photography. Her body shape almost looks like she’s falling from the wheelchair and she’s posed as a doll or plastic figure. My thoughts behind this is maybe this is how the world views her, more as a object than a human. Her outfit and hair are very dramatic and doesn’t leave much to the imagination. The wheelchair itself could be acting as her transport, making her more inhuman as she struggles to be viewed as independent. We used a small fish tank full of water and LED light’s to brighten up the set. We also had the white backdrop to make the paint colour’s stand out as much as possible. We used two/three small syringes with different colour paint’s and experimented with props to see what turned out best. I love all the different textures to the photo. It reminds me of the sun shining down the mountain. Although it’s a black and white image, it has lots of different light and dark tones. There’s not much of a story behind it, other than the fact he loved nature. I would display this image in my home, I love the natural light from the sun highlighting the leaves. Also he’s blurred out the mountain’s in the backdrop, making the plant/weed stand out. Photograph’s taken unexpectedly and totally raw. This is the typical working class British holiday to Brighton in the 1980’s. The image is really striking to me, it’s recording people’s life’s as it’s happening. You can clearly see that for this particular family that this holiday is to their budget. A hard working class household with very little income. This is how they live and enjoy their time together. I love how the moment was captured as the mother stopped to change her baby’s nappy. A totally unique photo that probably couldn’t be replicated or staged. Her photography went unseen until she passed away in 2009. All of her images are mostly portraits taking off guard in the streets of Chicago and New York in the 1950s and 1960s. 
As I researched Vivian I came across this image which I particularly liked. It describes what type of photographer she is and her particular style of black and white. The story is that she wanted to capture an off guard expression of this woman. She loved different types of people and how they do their day to day lives on the busy streets. The natural lighting of the photo really finishes off the image beautifully. This type of photograph is the style I particularly love which is portraiture and black and white. I assembled my own burger tower trying to enhance the ingredients so they are pleasing to the eye. I used low key studio lighting and a high key light box with a blue backdrop to get a good variety of images. I used shoe polish to draw on the grill lines to show a flamed grilled effect to enhance viewer’s tastebuds when looking at the photograph wanting you to want the burger. Also, I used make up pads to get an even height and to minimise gaps between each ingredient between the burger buns.
