         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><strong>Alcohol Use Disorders (AUD): </strong>&nbsp;medical conditions that doctors diagnose when a patient’s drinking causes distress or harm.&nbsp;</li><li>Binge Drinking: a pattern of drinking that brings a person’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) to 0.08 grams percent or above. This typically happens when men consume 5 or more drinks, and when women consume 4 or more drinks, in about 2 hours.</li><li>88,000 deaths are annually attributed to excessive alcohol use</li><li>Alcoholism = 3rd leading lifestyle-related cause of death in the nation.</li><li>Excessive alcohol use is responsible for 2.5 million years of potential life lost annually, or an average of about 30 years of potential life lost for each death</li><li>Up to 40% of all hospital beds in the United States (except for those being used by maternity and intensive care patients) are being used to treat health conditions that are related to alcohol consumption</li><li>Every year in the U.S., roughly 5,000 people under the age of 21 die from an alcohol-related incident.</li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>
