This book starts off with a normal girl called Tia. It starts with her birthday and getting gifted an ancient Egyptian mirror because it has gone down generation after generation. But there is something unusual about it. Tia sees the beautiful markings and it looks brand new. However, her mum and gran just see it as a ancient piece that is nothing special. Tia keeps having dreams about this mirror being haunted and it sucking her into it but she just realises that it was just a nightmare. Or was it? One day she goes to school and meets the new girl called Esther. They turn out to be besties. One particular night when Tia was packing for the sleepover they were going to have, she stared straight into the mirror and in a flash, she got sucked into it. She turned out to have been teleported into the year 1484 into the Egyptian times. She got teleported into a tomb where the Pharaoh's most prized possessions lay untouched. Someone barged through the door and threatened to kill her but the Pharaoh came to quick for that she hurried her off with her daughter Neferure. Neferure looked really familiar, just like someone she knew at school already. She looked more like Esther. Neferure showed her her little town of Egypt and took her on a tour. One night when they were both sleeping, Tia woke with a start and so did Neferure. Someone was calling them over because the Pharaoh had an important meeting. The 'someone' took them in a carriage into the middle of nowhere. Someone left them there to be crocodile food. They then spoke to who they believe in. Their God. The God then opened up a sparkly path to lead them the way back and stop someone else from ruling. One the way back, they came off the track to get some food. Then out of nowhere, a crocodile came and bit Neferure on the leg. Tia yanked it off and they hurried off. I didn't mention this before but Esther had a scar on her leg that was a birth mark but people thought that it looked like a crocodile bite. Anyway, they got back and found out that the Pharaoh had died and someone else had become the new ruler. They hurried off with two people they trusted and one of them said to Tia ''Go, go back to where you came. It is your time.'' The next split second, Tia was back in her bedroom and her gran told her to come down to the phone because her friend Esther was on the phone. Then Esther said ''Gosh, it feels like I have known your forever.'' I liked this book because it taught me a little bit about History and the Egyptians. It was also really enjoyable. I would give this to the upper years or the years that are doing History about the Egyptians. I would also recommend this book to someone who loves History and especially the Egyptians.

I am currently reading this book as it has been given to the people going to Hummersknott to read over the summer holidays. Not trying to spoil it for the other people but I am going to tell you a little bit about it. It starts with a girl called Ami who lives with her Nanay. Nanay means mother. They live on a lost island called Culion but everyone calls it bad things. On it lives lepers and other people like normal. One day the government comes onto it to make some changes and but the clean people in the clean section and the lepers in the leper section. Nanay tries to fight over it as her daughter Ami has been living with her for her whole life and has stayed clean. Will she win the fight? What will happen next? I would really recommend this book because it includes a lot of suspense to really draw the reader in. It is also the same author as the girl of ink and stars.

This has got to be one of my favourite David Walliams books. I just think it is written really well and the illustrator has done a very good job at the pictures. They really draw you in. I also like how it says 'Free Custard Cream Inside *Half Eaten*' as it makes me just laugh thinking about it. I also like custard creams a lot. I don't want to spoil to much but as you may tell from the front cover it involves a a gigantic hairy bouncy eye which gives me a weird feeling just like it shouldn't be hairy. I would recommend this book to the younger ones as it is more focused on younger children. The older ones can also read it if they feel inspired and interested by the cover and the detail in the book.

I have finally finished this book and I am so happy as it was quite a thick one. It has taken me over a year to read it fully. It is about the future. It starts in the year 2120 and Britain is dull and old. Everyone is disappointed and depressed. Bad rulers rule and things always take dark turns. Here is a little summary of the story.

Summary:

When Alfred's beloved mother the queen is dragged off to the Tower of London, the boy must summon all his courage to embark on an epic quest to save her... and his kingdom. Will you know what happens at he end?

I will leave it to the people who want to read it to find out...

Recommendation:

I recommend this book because it is really interesting and it talks about predictions for the future itself.

The Tanglewood books talk about the zoo and all the animals in it which makes me like them even more! This time a tiger escaped and they didn't know where it went or where it was going... Do you happen to know? I finished this book a while ago but I still remember a little bit but I don't want to spoil it for you. Read this book because it gets you closer to animals and gives you interesting facts about some different animals even I have never heard of before!

I really enjoyed this book because it told a story about another person from a different culture and I really felt what it was like to be that person. I also enjoyed how it showed the different foods they eat like pomegranate or curry for example it shows there culture more as well. I also like how it like explains a natural thing how some people sit at the back of the class and some people can be exchange students who have never been in that country before. I liked this book and would recommend it to the Year 3's and above so they can learn more about it too.

But little did they know... The beasts weren't always real...

The First Book:

The first ever Beast Quest book is called Ferno: The Fire Dragon and it was published in 2007!! 95% liked this book so much they continued for the whole collection!

I have nearly finished this book since I have been reading some others. I can't remember all of it but I do know how it starts off. I like the Harry Potter books because even though they are quite thick books I have the patience and time to read them. I know a lot of the people know Harry Potter a lot so I am trying to up my game and by doing so I have been reading some of this. I have read how Harry goes to Hogwarts and from then on is with Dumbledore for a bit and how he gets a wand fit for him and meets the Weasleys and Hermione Granger. I'm not a big Harry Potter fan but I have to say, I know a lot more than I think I do. I give it so fat a 8.3/10 because it is written so well and I love the front cover piece it just looks so delicate and perfect. I would recommend it so far to someone who loves fantasy and magic.

When I was younger I used to love this book and I loved it so much we had two copies of it! My favourite character I think he was called Moon-Face because he just brought more magic to the book than there already was. He used to take you to the different lands and sometimes if you didn't get out of the tree in time you would get stuck in there until that dimension re-opened again. It includes everything a young child would love (especially a girl) for example there are fairies and other creatures that are either exotic or cute. I would give this book a 10/10 and would recommend it to the younger ones that love fairy tales and enlightening the magic further.

He was very poor when he was younger but had great speed, skill, and an eye for goal. During his football career he spent time in Rome where he played for Roma, he then played for Chelsea before joining Liverpool where he has won the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup. He also played for his country but unfortunately has had a disappointing international career. This is a really good book for football fans.

About an hour before sunrise, the robin and blackbirds begin the chorus. They have larger and more sensitive eyes, allowing them to see in early light.

I have started to read this book that we got given from Hummersknott Academy to read over the holidays. So far, I know that it is about a girl who lives with her Nanay ( mother ) but she is ill. Nanay tries to fight over her illness but she can’t. They live on a lost island called Culion but everyone calls it bad things. Yes I haven’t read much but so far I would really recommend it. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I have now read this book twice. It is mainly about a boy who is from a different Culture who escaped the war. Someone had left the class and that chair they were on had never been sat on since she left. When the boy arrived at his school, he got put onto that chair. The most I liked about this book is looking at the different foods. I think it shows their culture more because of the foods. I really liked reading this book and I would definitely recommend it.

The boy in the dress is one of my favourite david walliams books and it brings out other people in this book. It as you can tell, tells the story of a boy in a dress! It shows you you should never take anything for granted and be who you want to be! Never let anybody let you down! I would recommend his book to someone who likes learning new things and learning about people and who they want to be. I would give this book to an 8 year old and would rate it a 9.1/10!!

I like how it talks about world war 2 and the planes and crashes. His grandson also helps him do some things as he is getting a bit old. What are you waiting for? Go read this book! I would recommend it to someone who loves History and learning about WW2. I give it a solid 9/10 because it really just brings the suspense to life!

I really liked bad dad I have only just started reading it. I like it because the front cover just stands out to me and makes me want to read it. It is a bit sad because his dad gets in a crash and the son is obviously sad and he is trying to find money for him and his dad because his mum left them when he got in the crash because she couldn't help. That bit really stood out to me because I would never leave my family even if I couldn't help I would try my best to make things right. I would recommend this book to the older ones like 9-11. I rate this book a 9.2/10 so far!

I got bought this book because my nick name is Hannah Banana and I get called that a lot or just the name Banana. I finished it last year but yet again never really write much about it so I will tell you a bit of it. It is about a gorilla called Gertrude who lives in the London Zoo and it is in the middle of WW2. The Zoo is run by his grandpa and him and have kept it for ages! A bomb strikes and madness happens. Will they make it out alive? They save the gorilla and the gorilla helps with the plane and the war and lives a happy life filled with joy and sadness. I would recommend it to someone who also likes WW2 like Grandpa's Great Escape and an animal lover. I give it a solid 10/10. It was my favourite book I have ever read!
