The biggest shrine there is a Shintoism shrine called the 'Meiji Shrine' which is dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife.

Shintoism - Shintoism originates from Japan and is as old as Japan itself. It has no founder and is 'the way of the Gods'. The Shinto Gods are called Kami and they're spirits that take up things like wind, mountains, trees, etc.

Buddhism - Buddhism originates from India and was founded by Siddhārtha Gautama. Siddhārtha taught everyone about Buddhism and now they worship him.
