Tet is celebrated annually, typically falling in late January or early February.

Before Tet several weeks, people always clean both the inside and the surroundings their house. Additionally, they use cherry blossom branches, kumquat trees, and a variety of vibrant flowers to decorate their homes. Then, they prepare various traditional foods such as Chung cake and pickled onions. Children receive new clothes from their parents. All family members gather to exchange the best wishes and share a meal on New Year’s Eve. Tet is an important occasion for families and friends to come together and motivate people to strive harder in the coming year.

I love Tet because it’s a time when I get to spend quality time with my family and enjoy delicious traditional food. I look forward to celebrating Tet with my loved ones in the years to come.

My favourite holi day it's Lunar New Year. In that day,I can wear new clothes and get lots of lucky money.I can play fun games. It's great! Lunar New Year it's the best!

On Tet holiday, my family always goes to my hometown to visit my grandparents in Hai Duong and Phu Tho province. In the morning of December 29th (Lunar calendar) My grandmother and I go to the local market to buy something such as meat, bean, Dong leaves, ... to make Chung cake. We also buy peach blossom, kumquat tree and new clothes. Then we clean our house and decorate it with flowers and candies, cakes.

In the evening of the last day of the year, my family gathers together to watch Tao Quan program on TV and fireworks. My grandparents and parents give me and my younger sister lucky money (^_^). We are very happy and wish all best wishes for each member of the family.

Halloween, a holiday observed on October 31 and noted for its pagan and religious roots and secular traditions. In much of Europe and most of North America, observance of Halloween is largely nonreligious, celebrated with parties, spooky costumes, jack-o’-lanterns, pumpkin carvings, and the giving of candy. But the holiday also marks the beginning of Allhallotide, a three-day Christian triduum dedicated to remembering the dead that begins with Halloween (October 31) and is followed by All Saints’ Day (November 1) and All Souls’ Day(November 2).

Halloween had its origins in the festival of Samhain among the Celts of ancient Britain and Ireland. On the day corresponding to November 1 on contemporary calendars, the new year was believed to begin. That date was considered the beginning of the winter period, the date on which the herds were returned from pasture and land tenures were renewed. During the Samhain festival the souls of those who had died were believed to return to visit their homes, and those who had died during the year were believed to journey to the otherworld. People set bonfires on hilltops for relighting their hearth fires for the winter and to frighten away evil spirits, and they sometimes wore masks and other disguises to avoid being recognized by the ghosts thought to be present. It was in those ways that beings such as witches, hobgoblins, fairies, and demons came to be associated with the day. The period was also thought to be favorable for divination on matters such as marriage, health, and death. When the Romans conquered the Celts in the 1st century CE, they added their own festivals of Feralia, commemorating the passing of the dead, and of Pomona, the goddess of the harvest.
In the 7th century CE Pope Boniface IV established All Saints’ Day, originally on May 13, and in the following century, perhaps in an effort to supplant the pagan holiday with a Christian observance, it was moved to November 1. The evening before All Saints’ Day became a holy, or hallowed, eve, from which the word "Halloween" evolved. By the end of the Middle Ages, the secular and the sacred days had merged. The Reformation essentially put an end to the religious holiday among Protestants, although in Britain especially Halloween continued to be celebrated as a secular holiday. Along with other festivities, the celebration of Halloween was largely forbidden among the early American colonists, although in the 1800s there developed festivals that marked the harvest and incorporated elements of Halloween. When large numbers of immigrants, including the Irish, went to the United States beginning in the mid 19th century, they took their Halloween customs with them, and in the 20th century Halloween became one of the principal U.S. holidays, particularly among children.

As a secular holiday, Halloween has come to be associated with a number of activities. One is the practice of pulling usually harmless pranks. Celebrants wear masks and costumes for parties and for trick-or-treating, thought to have derived from the British practice of allowing the poor to beg for food, called “soul cakes.” Trick-or-treaters go from house to house with the threat that they will pull a trick if they do not receive a treat, usually candy. Halloween parties often include games such as bobbing for apples, perhaps derived from the Roman celebration of Pomona. Along with skeletons and black cats, the holiday has incorporated scary beings such as ghosts, witches, and vampires into the celebration. Another symbol is the jack-o’-lantern, a hollowed-out pumpkin, originally a turnip, carved into a demonic face and lit with a candle inside. Since the mid-20th century the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has attempted to make the collection of money for its programs a part of Halloween.

Halloween is on the thirty-first of October. Halloween is a spooky night filled with ghosts, creepy costumes, and chilling surprises.

Before Halloween, my sister and i went shopping for sweets like candy and cakes,...At that time, my family went out for a really lavish and delicious meal, too!

In Halloween, my family wore really beautiful outfits and went around the city of Hanoi.

That's all, and i love Halloween so much!

I like Christmas because my parents usually give me a lot of presents at Christmas. There are some familiar things like stars, ornaments and candy canes in the Christmas tree, and I love to decorate them by myself.

My mother always prepares delicious dishes such as roasted turkey, spaghetti and hot chocolate for me.

I’m Gia Bao. My favorite holidays is Vietnamese Lunar New Year. I like that day because I can get lucy money.I also love to decor my house. Make a Chưng cake, Te cake with my grand parents. I also go to rootop top see the fireworks. Tet food is also very beautiful, is inculde:

-Chưng cake, Lean pork paste, Te cake, Red stiky rice, Fried spring rolls, Rice noodle, Raw vegetables.

My favorite holiday was the summer vacation at Da Nang beach. I swam in the sea, built sandcastles, and played with my family. We had a lot of fun together. It was a wonderful time!

You know? Fireworks are rarely fired, only on the special occasions such as Tet holiday, everyone has the opportunity to see. Every annual Tet Holiday, my family has the occasion to watch fireworks at Guom Lake, Ha Noi city. That night, after the rice tray to welcome the New Year’s Eve prepared, my family goes to Guom Lake and countdown in to new year. At the moment, Guom Lake has a lot of people, laughter which make the atmosphere warm in the cold of the winter in Ha Noi.

Finally, the important moment has coming, 5…4…3…2…1, the sound of fireworks glowed on the sky of Ha Noi city with many different colours. The fireworks lasted only 5 minutes but give my family and everyone a lot of feelings which can’t describe by any words. A new year has come!

This year, I and my family will watch fireworks at Guom Lake to be enjoy and wish more peaceful, happiness, and good health in the new year.

Tet is the most of important holiday in Vietnam. In the North, people often have peach blossom in their houses on Tet holiday. But, in the South, people often have apricot tree in their house. At exactly 12 o'clock at night on the 30th, people will offer their ancestors a tray of food. People will give each other good wishes. Especially adults will give young people lucky red envelopes. Tet is an occasion for family reunion. Tet is my favorite holiday of the year. I really like Tet because I can gather with my family in a cozy atmosphere.

Every family prepares for Tet by buying a beautiful apricot blossom or peach blossom for their house. During this holiday, adults are off work, and students are off school without the worry of homework! One of the most exciting parts is New Year's Eve. I love it because my brother and I can go watch the magnificent fireworks, especially around Hoan Kiem Lake. During Tet, people exchange good wishes for a lucky and prosperous year. Every child looks forward to receiving lucky money, and we also get to spend quality time with family. My family members/adults also often visit the pagoda to pray for health, strength, and peace in the new year.

I always look forward to Tet because it is so much fun and creates many unforgettable memories.
