Turnpike Troubadour's album "A Long Way from Your Heart," is one that has so much emotion in it. Songs such as "Pay No Rent" and "Pipe Bomb Dream" are some of the most powerful songs ever. Pay no rent dives into the feelings of love. They use a slow tempo, because at Ratliff says you can present the song the best way. This lets the listener feel as though they are connected to the song. In Pipe Bomb Dream the structure that Ratliff talks about is obvious. They put you in the shoes of the singer and show you how his feelings really were. We see this progression of having a great time to being reckless. There is a time when you have to crash and the progression is perfect in showing that, because you feel as if you are the character.
