         <title>SEL to me means that students are understanding real life things and there is not just a focus on academics. SEL is practiced everyday in my class. Students learn to give self affirmation, gratitude, and we do activities that pertain to a specific word a day, such as respect.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I have learned a lot about SEL before however I've discovered it's success mostly by learning from my students and connecting to to myself.  For example, some of my students' behaviors reminds me of me as a kid.  This helps me understand how to connect to my students, build their trust enough so that they don't feel like they are alone and are constantly supported.  Raising individual standards as appropriate to help keep the challenge going and find successes that relate to their current acumen. </div>]]></description>
