The Battle of Stalingrad took place from July 17, 1942-February 2, 1943 and was a battle between The Soviet Union and Germany where the German Axis and Soviet Allies were fighting on the Eastern Front in hopes to take control of the city formerly known as Stalingrad. The Battle of Stalingrad was important to the turning point of the war as it significantly weakened the Germans army.

The Invasion of Italy occurred from September 3, 1943 - September 17, 1943. British forces landed on the 'toe' of Italy and began to push inwards. However the Germans tried to delay the entry of the British by placing things such as mines, booby-traps, and demolitions. Then on the 9th of September American troops began landing on the beaches of Italy. However shortly after the Italian dictator was overthrown and the new Government in Italy decided to surrender.

Over 156,000 troops from The United States, The United Kingdom, Canada and many other allies landed on five different beaches. These beaches include the Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword. The allies first captured the beaches then began to move inland.

The Liberation of Paris took place from August 19, 1944 - August 25, 1944. This was the period of time in which the city of Paris was freed from Nazi control. German soldiers were ordered to defend the city, however, if it could not be contained Hitler ordered the Germans to completely destroy the city. After days of fighting it became untameable so the Germans formally surrendered to the French.

The attack created a bulge in the allied line. The Germans were then able to make advances and caused significant losses on American troops. This battle was the bloodiest fought in the war.

It was one of the bloodiest battles with about 200,000 casualties. On April 30, 1945 Adolf Hitler committed suicide after being hunted by Soviet troops.
