To begin the class I go over the I can statement and goals for the day. I then find a real world example I can relay the I can statement information within and go over that example with the class so they can see how the idea is used in the real world

After I have introduced a skill and given the students time to work on the standard, I will give the students a quick check assignment in Kuta or Delta Math. Both programs will give the immediate answers/scores. I can see their responses in real time and adjust as necessary.

I use the "I can" statement in the midlle of the lesson especially after the direct instruction. I use questioning strategy, placemat consensus and CER for inquiry based labs.

After the bellringer, we discuss an I can statement as an objective. Then after we complete the Daily Assignment in spider Learning, we review the statement again and I ask for thumbs up or down as to whether they feel that they can do what the statement says.
