The purpose of using TLMs in the teaching-learning process is to improve students' understanding of a topic by utilizing all available materials in the environment. However, the true purpose depends on the teacher, their teaching style, and the context of the students, including their age.

For example, in a kindergarten setting, a teacher might use hands-on materials to help children develop their motor skills. In contrast, high school students have different needs, so a teacher might use more abstract materials, such as digital books and presentations. These types of resources would be less engaging for kindergarten or elementary school students and could make their learning process more difficult.

The purpose of teaching materials is to provide students with a guide when completing an activity or teaching a topic. These materials can be traditional or digital. Traditionally, we rely on physical resources such as flash cards or anything our students can manipulate with their hands. On the other hand, digital materials are a resource we can use if circumstances don't allow for them, such as videos, audio, etc. By using materials, we can grab our students' attention. If we're working with young children, we can use colorful or eye-catching materials, as well as games. We must take into account the context of our learners to determine the type of materials we choose.

Traditional materials, such as books, posters, and physical objects, provide tangible and hands-on experiences that help students develop fine motor skills and a direct connection with the content. They are like the teacher's tools to motivate his students and achieve meaningful learning. It connects the theory with examples of real or fictional situations and helps the student see what they are learning and how to apply what they have learned. They can also be an assessment and feedback tool when including tasks or tests to corroborate correct learning.

These materials support the teacher in explaining ideas in a simple way, maybe this can help students stay interested, and make learning more interactive. By using visual, audio, or hands-on resources, students can remember information better, TLMs act as helpful tools that make teaching more effective and learning more enjoyable for everyone in the classroom.

Teaching and Learning Materials (TLMs) are essential tools used by educators to support and enhance the teaching-learning process. These materials can be physical, digital, or a combination of both, and they serve as a bridge between theoretical concepts and real-world understanding. The primary purpose of TLMs is to facilitate effective communication of knowledge and to make the learning experience more engaging, interactive, and accessible for students of different learning styles and backgrounds.

One of the main purposes of TLMs is to simplify complex information. Teachers often deal with abstract or difficult concepts, especially in subjects like science, math, or language learning. Using visual aids like charts, models, or videos can help break down complicated topics into more understandable components. For example, a science teacher may use a 3D model of the human heart to explain its structure and function more clearly than with just a textbook.

Adriana Díaz Lazcano

In my opinion, TMLs are very important because they make the teaching-learning process more dynamic, interesting, and easier to follow. They help explain topics more clearly, allow students to connect theory with real-life examples, and make it easier to remember the information. TMLs also support different learning styles, so each student can learn in the way that works best for them, whether it is through visual aids, listening activities, or reading materials.

Materials are key in language learning (both in the teaching and learning process) because they’re the tools that guide and motivate students. They give structure, show real-life language use, and adapt to different learning styles (whether through visuals, audio, or practice activities). Without them, learning feels random; with them, it’s organized, engaging, and way more effective.

They also make the teacher's job a lot easier by being able to communicate what they're trying to teach in many different ways, making it more meaningful to students.

Explain the purpose of using TMLs in teaching-learning process

I think that use TMLs in teaching-learning process help to the studiers because all the people have different way to learnd, specialty when we are learning a new language. The speakers need to watch the meaning of the new words, need the reference. I believe that when you are a learner of language the teacher need to give good indication but if the students them way to learn is visual, the teacher need material like graphs or flashcards, if the student is auditory, the teacher need videos, podcast or oral presentation, depends of the learners but using material for me, is a extra.

To conclude, I consider that TML going to help us in process for to be a teacher. I think that we are going to use the English material in the future for us classes and maybe the knowledge that we are going to learnd, can give us some ideas, strategy and the exactly way to create a good material.
