Apart from research, I also have a passion for creative writing. I enjoy crafting stories and using words to express my thoughts and emotions. That's the main reason why I decided to take this course. I believe it will help me enhance my writing skills and explore new ways to express myself.

As an introvert, I often express myself better through writing than speaking. I often find that writing helps me communicate my ideas better. However, this may allow me to participate less in group conversations or in situations that require more verbal interaction. Anyway, I'm looking forward to learning with all of you and sharing our ideas and experiences together.

Michael was not awake when the exam started. He woke up at 11 am on that day and realized that he missed the exam. Therefore, he went to the clinic immediately and tried to get a sick leave certificate. 

When he left the clinic with the sick leave certificate and was going to send an email to the department to look for a make-up exam, he saw his LUE3001 lecturer.  

It turned out that his LUE3001 lecturer did not wake up on time either.

There is pain when we grow up, like growing wisdom teeth. 

As we grow up from teenagers to adults, we often experience a lot of pain. 

We still experience intermittent pain even though the wisdom teeth have a little more room for growth. 

Moodiness and depression, sometimes accompanied by disorientation, at regular intervals. 

But in fact, most of them are obstructed and inflamed due to lack of space. 

 

Why do we have to go through this pain? 

Why is growing up so painful? 

Why are wisdom teeth called "wisdom teeth"? 

Because it appears in the process of our growth, when our physical and psychological development is close to maturity, it is a symbol of "wisdom coming".  

Indeed, wisdom is born during growth, and sometimes it is very painful. 

 

However, we can choose to pull out wisdom teeth and remove the source of our pain. 

Just as in the process of growing up,  

we can all unplug the people and things that bring pain to our lives. 

And we can comfort ourselves with a cup of ice cream. 

 

It's just that before, during, and after pulling out,  

we also have to bear the necessary suffering,  

and these pains will make us experience a lot of torture.

As she descended the plane's stairs, a hot and unfamiliar air encircled her like a boiling cauldron. In stark contrast to the cold embrace of her homeland, the heat hugged her in a sweltering manner. Iris found herself in a stunning setting, yet she couldn't shake off the fear that entangled her when she was surrounded by the unfamiliar place. The feeling of trepidation gnawed at her as she realized she was in an uncharted realm.

 

Iris arrived at her accommodation and as she settled in, she made the decision to explore the island. She was strolling through the lush jungle, admiring the magnificent surroundings, when all of a sudden－ the atmosphere shifted. The sky grew ominously dark, like an approaching army of thunderclouds, and before she knew it, a violent tempest was upon her.

 

Iris had never experienced a storm like this before, the winds were howling, the rain was pouring down in sheets, and the thunder boomed like a thousand drums of war that she could feel in her bones. Panic rose within her as she looked around, realizing she had become lost. Her heart raced as she searched for any sign of her hostel, feeling like a ship adrift in an ocean of uncertainty.

 

As fear crept up on her, but then she remembered that she had seen a small restaurant earlier on her stroll. She decided to dash through the rain, hoping that she would find a haven in the raging storm there. After wandering for several minutes in the downpour, she spotted the restaurant in the distance like a found beacon in the storm. She pushed through the door and was greeted by a friendly vibe.

 

Iris settled into a seat, her stomach growling with hunger. A tall and cheerful waiter approached her with a warm smile, asking if she needed any help choosing from the menu. She scanned the menu, perplexed by the foreign terms, and her hunger grew more intense. The waiter saw she was struggling with the menu, so he suggested a local food known as "Masroshi," which piqued her curiosity. Without hesitation, she chose to give it a shot and savor the mysterious dish.

 

The first bite of the dish took Iris to an unknown world, where her senses were overwhelmed with unfamiliar and exotic aromas. Bite after bite, bite after bite, bite after bite… Each bite was a unique taste that she had never experienced before. While indulging in her meal, she had been whisked away to heaven, where she found complete contentment and was free from the noise of the storm outside the restaurant's walls.

 

BOOM. The sound of thunder boomed like a cannon, the lights vanished, throwing Iris into a veil of darkness, and the storm outside grew stronger and more violent. Once more, she began to feel frightened, but then she heard the voice of the waiter which gave her comfort.

Waiter: "Don't worry, madam. The storm will shortly dissipate. We have a backup generator here, so we won't be enveloped in a shroud of shadows for very long."

Iris: "Thank you for your kindness. Your voice saved me from the hell, these kinds of storms are unusual for me."

Waiter: "It's okay. It's a common occurrence here. Just relax and enjoy your meal."

 

He lit some candles and continued to talk to her, telling her stories about the island and its people. Iris and the waiter talked for hours while the storm was raging outside, losing track of time until the rain began to dwindle…

 

Flick. The lights flickered back to life and Iris realized that she had spent an eternity in the restaurant. Iris conveyed her appreciation to the waiter for his kindness and for guiding her through the storm, and then she departed to her hotel, feeling grateful for the unexpected adventure.

 

From that day on, whenever she thought about her trip to the Maldives, she would always recall the storm and the delicious dish Masroshi, which had left an indelible mark on her soul. She came to understand that sometimes, the best experiences in life come from stepping outside of the comfort zone and embracing the unaccustomed.

Some people might think that football is just a game, but to me, it's everything. It's my passion, my purpose, my destiny. And I won't stop until I become the next Messi, and even beyond. 

 

The motivation: (Writing Task 3) 

His goal is to be the best football player in the world. 

To achieve this goal, he trains 16 hours every day. 

He can give up all his entertainment hours for practice football 

To him, football is everything. 

He gets motivation from his family. 

He will still work hard to achieve it even if he knows that he can't be the next Messi. 

 
Conflict: 

He is very thin and short, he is only 160cm. All his teammates and competitors are taller than him. Every football club is inspired by his football skills, but they don’t want to sign a small guy, as when he grows up, he will lose to other players that are taller than him by at least 20cm and stronger than him. However, he does not think height matters as his idol Messi is also short, and Messi is considered as the GOAT.   

 

Past: 

When he was young, his family always watched football matches on the weekend. 

He always heard the voice from the tv “Messsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssi” 

One day, his family brought him to watch Messi’s match, 

During the game, Messi accidentally kicked the ball to him. 

And after the game, Messi came to comfort him and gave him his clothes.

Motivation: Thanos is driven by his conviction that the universe is too crowded, and resources are scarce. He believes that to save it, half of all life in the universe must be eliminated. Thanos views himself as a rescuer, ready to make the hard decisions that others cannot. Additionally, he is motivated by his affection for Lady Death. Thanos thinks that Lady Death will only appreciate his actions if he can restore balance to the universe. 

 

Woody (from Toy Story 1) 

Motivation: Woody's motivation comes from his need to be the beloved toy of Andy and take care of the other toys. He grapples with feelings of envy and inadequacy when a new toy named Buzz Lightyear becomes Andy's favorite, but he eventually learns to value the importance of teamwork and friendship while working alongside Buzz and the other toys to accomplish their objectives.

 I couldn't help but believe that Murphy's Law applied since we continued experiencing setbacks. Despite our best efforts, it appeared like the universe was conspiring against us since everything kept going wrong. Yet, we learned and improved as we persevered and made adjustments to the challenges.

You came to the realization that Murphy's Law was not something to be dreaded or avoided, but rather served as a useful reminder to prepare for the unexpected and consider challenges as opportunities for learning and development. It involves accepting challenges as they come and remaining receptive to the unexpected.

 In reality, practically all of our interactions and endeavors, including those that are personal and work-related, are subject to Murphy's Law. We can learn from other people's experiences through reading and research, preparing us for the unexpected. The worst-case scenario's probability can be decreased by working very hard.
