         <description><![CDATA[<div>This chapter talked about two middle school teachers that taught a screen play writing unit. Not only did the students create the screen-play, but they also had to make the movie come to live through a video. The two teachers then decided to organize a film festival between the two classes to view the movies. This created a more meaningful experience for all parties involved. The teachers took time making a checklist of things that needed to take place during the unit. This ensured that students were using higher order thinking skills in order to meet the standard. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This teaching strategy allowed students to see the unit all the way through to the end product. They weren't just writing a story and creating a video. They were truly telling a story of their learning throughout middle school. This allowed them to take their bullet point thoughts from an idea, to a screen play, to a movie. This process showed them the real meaning behind the standard and behind writing in general. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Problem based learning is a similar strategy to the one covered in Chapter 9. For example, in Project Lead the Way (a PBL program) students are presented with three smaller problems and that feeds into one larger problem that they have to solve. I feel that this gives my students adequate practice with the content at hand (science). It also allows my students to apply what they have learned in class to a larger problem that could happen in real life. This strategy seems similar in that it is a meaningful way to assess my students' learning.</div>]]></description>
