Goal # 2: Fully close the equity gap for successful enrollment of Black/African American applicants by increasing the number of successful enrollment by enrollment by 12.4% (27 students).

Goal: Increase awareness of CCC and the BAASE program through intentional, relationship-based outreach in Black communities.

Suggested Activities:

• Partner with local high schools, churches, youth orgs, and Black-led nonprofits to host “CCC Black Student Preview Days” and BAASE info nights.

• Create outreach materials (flyers, videos, social media) featuring Black student voices, alumni testimonials, and BAASE supports.

• Deploy community-based recruiters (including BAASE students) to engage with prospective students and families in trusted spaces.

Justification:

• Relationship-based, culturally relevant outreach increases trust and visibility in communities historically underserved by higher education.

• This strategy honors cultural capital and reduces barriers of misinformation and mistrust.

Goal: Create consistent visibility of Clovis Community College and the BAASE Program in early education spaces.

Suggested Activities:

• Partner with Black Student Unions (BSUs), AVID, African American Parent Advisory Councils (AAPAC), and school counselors to deliver recurring CCC workshops and presentations.

• Offer college-themed field trips to CCC that include tours, student panels, and hands-on class experiences for middle and high schoolers.

• Sponsor Black Student Success Week Awards or scholarships at local high schools to introduce the BAASE brand and mission.

Justification:

• When students see CCC as a consistent, affirming presence in their educational journey, enrollment feels natural and inviting.

• This supports long-term pipeline development by cultivating interest early.

Goal: Expose Black high school students to CCC early and often through equity-focused dual enrollment and transition programs.

Suggested Activities:

• Partner with high schools in Black-majority zip codes to offer BAASE Dual Enrollment Cohorts, where students take CCC courses together with support.

• Launch a Black Student Summer Bridge Program that offers credit-bearing courses, mentorship, and college readiness workshops.

• Provide transportation, meals, and stipends to reduce participation barriers in early access programs.

Justification:

• Early exposure to college with community support improves students' confidence and likelihood of enrolling post–high school.

• These strategies also build pipelines from feeder schools into CCC with cultural relevance at the center.
