In America there are an abundant amount of opportunities to achieve your dream, especially when it comes to looking for jobs. This is what makes living here so great. Opportunity is defined in Webster's Dictionary as "A good position, chance or prospect for achievement." America is known as "The land of opportunity" Most people move here in search of a better life through hard work and dedication to their cause. Having a degree really helps you when trying to choose a job. I know I have many options for college when it comes to nursing school. I can get the same amount of knowledge and education at a smaller and cheaper school, than going to a big university where I would possibly end up in debt. My American Dream is to have a happy life, raise a family, and succeed in my future job. My future job is to be a pediatric nurse. Although nursing school is really difficult, I plan on working extremely hard to excel in that class. Working hard and giving your best effort plays a big role in how people's "American Dream" ends up. If you work hard and try to reach your dream you're more than likely going to be able to achieve it. 

     Money is an essential need in America. Owning a home, starting a family and getting a good job were some of the main dreams to follow. When you think about it, none of that is cheap. Today, everything is so expensive. The cost of living being so high, minimal pay, and expensive education are just some of the many obstacles people have to overcome. It is sad that you have to pay so much money to go to a college to get an education. Not many people can afford college. Everybody should have a chance to go to college without worrying about paying it off your whole life. However, people who have the money to pay for college may not have the trouble that lower income people struggle with. College tuition has increased so much throughout the years. According to the College Board, the average cost of tuition and fees for the 2017–2018 school year was $34,740 at private colleges, $9,970 for state residents at public colleges, and $25,620 for out-of-state residents attending public universities. With the outraged economy this dream soon becomes a nightmare for many. 

     Although many people consider the American Dream "dead," I still think there is hope. People have come here with the amount of opportunities we have. This dream is anything you want to succeed in life and really just to have and live a good life. Everyone's dream is different. If you believe in yourself and work hard for what you want then you can achieve it. There are so opportunities in America. Everyone has the opportunity to achieve the American Dream, depending on how much effort they put in and how fortunate they are. Everything in the U.S. is so expensive. I think if this weren't the case a lot more people would have hope in the American Dream.
