¨Boxing legend Muhammad Ali, who said "I am the greatest,is dead at 74¨The author made this story to inform the reader about some of the great things that Muhammad Ali had done inside am out of the boxing ring, also how he had refused to go to Vietnam war to continue his boxing career and all the criticism he got.I know this because through out the story the subtitles and the title can indicate what the story is about .Someone can learn that if you choose to not do something that everyone thinks would be right for you ,you can still be successful.

" Dream Jobs: Mayors "
The authors purpose on writing " Dream Jobs " was to inform the audience. They were informing the audience on what an individual went through and where he came from to be a mayor. The article gave tips and ideas to someone who would be interested in that career. I think he wrote this article to show that anyone can do anything they want , even through challenges and conflict they can get anything done. After the article ,the reader or audience understand were and what people do to be successful.

The author's purpose for writing this article was to express the idea that the TV show, "The Casagrandes", was not simply another made up TV show just for kid's entertainment. We know this because the author says in paragraph 7, that some of the Latino authors incorporated their own experiences with their households into the show to give a realistic and relatable affect. The TV show can help the person watching learn who they truly are by seeing and relating to someone, or a character in this case.

The author's purpose for writing this article is to show how Asian's and Asian Americans are getting more recognition in the Marvel Universe and diversity is spreading and they are very happy about. I think this because the author is talking very positively about it in the article, they interviewed Loren Javier and he said how he loves Marvel but could never see himself in it. Now Asian and Asian american kids who read and watch the newer generation can finally see themselves in Marvel.

"Texas valedictorian tweets that she is undocumented; creates controversy"
The authors purpose for writing this article is to show that many things that can seem impossible can be accomplished by not giving up and also giving it your all. I think this because the author of this article is trying to spread awareness for people who think that from where they come from or their backgrounds think they can't accomplish things because of it. I think Lara learned who she was by not being afraid of sharing who she really was, to the public and not being afraid of her background anymore because even after everything she was able to still be a valedictorian from her school.

"Mr. Ratburn comes out as gay and gets married in "Arthur" season premiere" gives a preview for an Arthur episode. The author's purpose for writing this article is to elaborate LGBT representation in kid shows. I think it shows that LGBT people are regular people and shouldn't be hidden away just because they're different. People obviously had mixed opinions about it due to personal beliefs. Some parent thought that their kids shouldn't exposed to gay marriage while others loved it. It shows that things deemed as "controversial' will always have backlash for certain groups of people.
