Although he is fight for black lives matter, which is a great cause, he disowned his country during their national anthem. I understand the Black Lives Matter is an important protest, but there are places so much worse than the states world wide.

He single handedly won the 2004 ALCS for the Red Sox. The Boston Red Sox won the world series in 1918 and did not win again until 2004. They won 3  in the following decade and are now amongst one of the most dominant sports teams of the 2000s. David Ortiz is also a very influential public figure, especially in the city of Boston.
