So he decided he needed to do something. He started with small sit ins at lunch counters and got others inspired to do so to. But as soon as he got more serious he started getting arrested, a lot, more than 40 times actually. He did have a reason for doing so as people were not being treated rightfully, he did it nonviolently he said he care about the charges as he knew he was doing the right thing. Also while marching on the day now known as, “Bloody Sunday” he and the other marcher got beat up some even killed, he got a skull fracture. That's a serious injury to receive to the head but he did continue even when he knew the risks of doing so. He wants to make sure everyone is treated the same no matter what the cost will be to him. This is a very heroic act that inspires me in many different ways. He shows me to be persistent in your goals whether they'd be fighting for civil rights or just small thing. It inspires me to stand up for things, he stood up for rights and got told to stop, but he didn't, and it worked, now everyone has more rights. Heros know the cost of getting something important done and John Lewis did that exact thing, that is why he is considered a hero to me.
