Professor Bruce Huang’s talk on “How Gen Z Can Drive Innovation with AI” was both insightful and inspiring. He drew a fascinating parallel between the futuristic technologies depicted in Star Trek and how many of those imagined innovations, such as voice-activated assistants and advanced medical devices, have become reality through AI. Professor Huang emphasized that Gen Z, with their natural digital fluency, are positioned to utilize the power of AI to solve today’s most pressing challenges. He encouraged students to think creatively, not just about the technology itself, but about the ethical implications and societal impact of AI-driven innovation. The informative online interactive session dove into great detail how AI drives innovation among Gen Z. The session included segments that not only inspired but also equipped the audience with adequate surface level information and skills to innovate within the field of AI.

As a member of the eager multitude his parallels with the pop culture phenomenon of “Star Trek” had drawn and fixated my attention to how many of these far off innovations had come to life. Especially, how I too could make a positive contribution.

Mr. Huang illustrated with examples th field of AI as the future of development and innovation within all spheres. Drawing examples of revolutionary thinkers from the past who used AI to bring to life many of the technologies that make our life convenient today.  Professor Huang emphasized the power Gen Z, held with their natural born

skills and  ease of digital literacy. How we must rise to innovate resolutions contemporary society’s pressing challenges. His talk left the audience inspired, educated  and enlightened to think  outside of the box to find solutions employing the skills that come to us with naturalness. He emphasized the ethical concerns, guidelines and code of conduct to abide by  and taken heed of to become responsible and innovative digital citizens.

The session on AI by Mr. Bruce Huang was highly engaging and provided a clear understanding of the current advancements in artificial intelligence. Mr. Bruce effectively explained complex AI concepts and highlighted innovations inspired by pop culture, such as those from Star Trek and Motorola. He showcased how ideas from science fiction have often influenced real-world technological developments. Moving forward, I am inspired to deepen my knowledge of AI, particularly in machine learning, and explore practical applications through hands-on projects. Additionally, I am keen to study the ethical implications of AI and engage with communities to stay updated on the latest trends. Throughout Mr. Huang's session, I was captivated by his insights on the topic, 'How Gen Z can drive innovation with AI'. His talk was not just informative but deeply inspiring on a personal level. From his journey at IBM and his transition into launching his own AI-driven startup, I could feel his passion for technology and its potential to reshape the world.

His mention of Star Trek and how it predicted so many technological advancements we see today, like mobile phones, real-time translators, 3d printers and UV imagers, made me think about how we, too, could be part of creating the next wave of technology.

When he spoke about his students at MIT and Harvard working on AI projects, it was inspiring to see that people not much older than me could make such an impact.

He also discussed the ethical implications of AI, how we must refine and train AI to respond in the most beneficial way possible.

Overall, I’m grateful for the opportunity to have heard from someone so passionate and knowledgeable, and his words have given me a renewed sense of interest to pursue my own path in AI, and perhaps consider a career in the field.

I am Madhav Sundararaman of 12A, and I was one of the students who was blessed with the opportunity of being a part of the virtual session on AI and the role of Gen Z in our everyday life.

The session was extremely informative and I had learnt a lot about AI. It was also a pleasure to see pictures of some of the inventions that have been made, as it was a reflection of our development and how the world has flourished over the years with the help of technology and AI. 'Star Trek', a TV show which was displayed in the olden days, was also spoken about in the meeting. The show prophesies some of the futuristic innovations which are present in the world today. Some of them include the 3D Printing, Cameras, etc. One of the innovations which we are yet to achieve is Teleporting, which is the next task for the Gen Z. We were also informed about the importance of Ethics in our work and innovations. So, this session was mainly focused on the importance of AI in our life and some of the technological advancements which have been achieved. We were also told that Imagination and Creativity are integral components of any new innovation, which should be paired with Team work and Collaboration. No great invention can be made without a stupendous amount of imagination and team work. It was such a pleasure to have been a part of the audience who had listened to such a reputed professor from Harvard University, and his insight has definitely boosted my knowledge about AI and the role of the Gen Z in our life. I am really looking forward to attending more such sessions which are beneficial for us in the 21st century world.

His session delved deeper into the importance of creativity and imagination and how they can serve as the foundation for something big in the future. This has helped me realize how, with the correct amount of effort, even the most inventive concepts—like camcorders and replication tools—can become reality. Additionally, his talk about the influence of science fiction in today's world and the various ways in which Gen Z can contribute to technological innovations has significantly increased my interest in the subject.
