I´m going to take a pair of jackets, pants, t- shirts, dresses and a pair of sneakers, so pair of boots, in the suitcase for the trip, and there are two books for read.
In the city its prefer the public transport, its very cheap, others are taxi, train, driving, cycling, walking or gliding on the water, its easy to get around canberra. The bus system in Canberra is one of the best in Australian.
Initially i will stay in a hotel. 
My favorite place is Questacon ( The national Science and techonology centre), it is wonderful architecture and its ilunation is so great at nigth.
