I love using golf tees with small hammers and letting the kids pound them in. I add yarn, rubber bands, paint, and other collage materials when I do this in the classroom. We read the story Pumpkin Jack, and then allow a jack-o-lantern with some seeds left inside to sit outside in the elements. We observe the pumpkin each day, and note its changes. If you have placed your pumpkin in a place where seeds can grow, you will most likely have a small pumpkin patch come spring!
