Some elements and principles that I recognize are contrast of the black and white as well as a range in value from under the umbrella. The social issue that this artwork about is the idea of a person having the trust of something to be able to protect them and rely on that thing for what it is supposed to do, but in reality it is adding to or creating more or the one thing you were trying to avoid or be sheltered from. What makes me think this is the irony of the umbrella bringing the rain upon the little girl when it is intended to cover her from it. Banksy is trying to say that the people or the things that you may put your trust into can be the things that will turn against you or deceive you of what you believed. I see it this way because the fire hydrant and the bell looks like it’s supposed to be like those games at arcades and the boy is simply playing with it.
