Beauty to me is something that makes my heart melt , it’s an overbearing emotion of joy that leaves me in awe. When I see something beautiful I take time to observe it and soak it in it’s beautifulness. With beauty there are no rules and no apologies. I believe beauty standards should be non existent. Everyone is beautiful in their own way, whether that be internally or physically. Years ago I used to try to conform to beauty standards, that being straight hair. I permed my hair to resemble that of a caucasian persons.  I found the beauty within myself and came to the realization that my natural hair and African American features are beautiful and I need to embrace them full heartedly. Beauty is a big part of my life, on the daily my definition of it is threatened primarily by what I see in the media. Clothing brands and their models are constantly setting new meanings of beauty along with trends. Beauty is the understanding of one's true self . In my opinion beauty is something that gives a person full contentment.
