First of all, in many places, men have more power than women, and this is reflected in their language. They do not have to please others as much as women, so men speak more directly and less politely than women. In addition, the myth of the “talkative woman” is part of many societies because of an unfair view of women's inferiority so they think women's speech is not valuable. Secondly, the place of English in the world reflects the power of the English-speaking world. English offers advantages as a tool of communication between nations. There are more and more global companies in the world. English has become a global language because of the wars that the English-speaking countries have won, and this is related to politics. Native English speakers do not have to learn any other languages. Furthermore, non-native speakers who know English can communicate with others more easily than people who cannot speak English.
