Aspire:

Act: I want to begin to allow students to do peer revisions with a partner before I give feedback.

Aspire: Eventually, I would love to get to a point of showing students how to use digital tools to edit and publish their work.

Act: I will set up a well stocked writing area, with writing essentials for them to grab when needed as well as create a writing center for students to practice independently.

Aspire: I aspire to teach in a writing rich environment because we are the first important stepping stone in their college, career, and civic participation.

Act: I want to ensure that I keep a well-stocked area of different writing materials to help my students to want to write more as it is important for their fine motor skills, but also their writing skills.

Aspire: I want my students to enjoy writing since that is one of the most important ways to have a student excited to learn.

Act: Provide students with more opportunities to write daily in all content areas and to provide time for them to share their responses with their peers.

Aspire: To give students opportunities to write in independently, with peers, and with teacher for a variety of purposes and contexts.

Act: More vocabulary/word wall resources.

Aspire: I would like to allow students to reflect/ compare in their writing more.

Act: I plan to involve my students in reviewing their own writing individually and through peer collaboration.

Aspire: I would like to incorporate more writing into all subject areas.

Act: I want to set up more stations where students have the opportunities to use creative writing.

Aspire: I aspire to get my students to a place where they enjoy writing and have a desire to write (even just for fun)

ACT: I will begin to have my 3rd grade students provide more realistic-research based details into their writing.

ASPIRE:I aspire for students to create a well thought out piece of writing that has supporting evidence and a sense of purpose in their writing. I want them to enjoy writing and not dread Mondays and Tuesdays ;-)

Act: I planned a Show & Tell for next week to help express their ideas to the class while teaching active listening.

Aspire: I want to continue with Show & Tell as a skill review, such as adjectives (using adjectives to describe their items to the class). It is also an important way to practice active listening. Also, model drawing to help students with writing.

Act: I was to provide the opportunity for my students to write daily.

Aspire: I would like to add more writing with incorporating peer led discussions with writing.

Act: I will engage children in constructing and deconstructing text. Provide more opportunities to respond to a text through writing.

Aspire: I aspire to help send my students to the next grade with foundational skills needed in order to write and "express their thoughts in skilled ways".
