The line graph depicts the smoking ratio among men and women in Someland, and the data also indicates how this rate has changed over the course of 40 years. The ratio of smokers in Someland clearly decreased over time, but the percentage of female smokers increased. As shown in the figure, nearly six out of 10 men in Someland smoked in 1960. At the time, only one female smoked, but throughout the years, this ratio has increased as the percentage of male smokers has fallen. In 1970, over two out of every ten women smoked, while male smokers' ratio declined somewhat. Moving on, in 1985, the percentages of male and female smokers were 40% and 30%, respectively, indicating a different trend in smoking among men and women. It is certain that more women began using tobacco in 1985 than at any other period in history. However, the smoking prevalence among both genders significantly fell after 1985, and by 2000, about 20 to 25 men and women in Someland smoked. Although more males smoked in Someland, the increasing number of female smokers was concerning. => ACCEPTABLE

Choosing a profession is an important decision that will impact one's future. There are varying views on whether young people should make this decision on their own or rely on their parents' advice. Both approaches offer benefits and drawbacks. First and foremost, supporters of young people making their own employment decisions claim that this method promotes independence and personal development. When people choose their careers, they are more inclined to follow careers that match their passions and interests. This internal motivation might result in higher job satisfaction and achievement. Furthermore, making such decisions allows young people to develop critical thinking and decision-making abilities, which are useful in all aspects of life. However, this strategy is not without its drawbacks. Young people may lack the necessary experience and expertise to make educated professional decisions. They may be affected by peer pressure or current trends, resulting in unsustainable long-term decisions. Furthermore, the pressure to make such an important decision so young in life can be overwhelming and stressful. Some argue that parents should have an active role in their children's professional choices. Parents typically have greater life experience and a better understanding of the labour market. They can offer vital insights and advice to assist their children avoid potential traps. Furthermore, parents are typically motivated by a desire to see their children succeed and may direct them towards stable and rewarding careers. However, this strategy has some downsides. When parents decide employment choices for their children, it can result in a lack of autonomy and personal fulfilment. Young individuals may feel compelled to satisfy their parents' expectations, even if it means choosing a career they are not interested in. This might lead to discontent and burnout in the long term. Furthermore, parents' perceptions may be impacted by their own experiences and biases, which may not be relevant to the current job market or the child's interests. In my opinion, a balanced approach is best. Young people should have the most influence in choosing their careers, as they will be the ones who must live with the repercussions of their decisions. However, parents should participate in the process, providing direction and support without imposing their own choices. Open communication between parents and children can help young people make educated decisions that take into account both their interests and practical issues. Finally, the goal should be to enable young people to take control of their careers while benefiting from their parents' wisdom and experience. This collaborative approach can result in more rewarding and successful careers. =>. ACCEPTABLE

Opting for a profession is always a decision that carries weight in one's life, especially for those at the threshold of stepping into society. Regarding this, there is still no end in sight for the debate over whether young people should have the freedom to walk their paths or their parents should arrange it for them. This essay aims to explore both perspectives and shed light on my own view on this topic.

On the one hand, those in favor of allowing young people to choose their own profession emphasize that it promotes autonomy and personal growth. Indeed, this is undeniably true as when individuals can select a career path totally based on their interests, skills, and passions, they are more likely to find fulfillment in their pursuits. Moreover, this self-directed decision-making process fosters self-awareness and a sense of responsibility over their works. They tend to invest more effort and commitment into their chosen field. Not only that, when people are able to do what they enjoy, they are more likely to be delve deeply into the field, discover possibilities and creative ideas.

On the other hand, the opponents advocate that parents play a significant role in guiding their children’s career choices. They have their points as parents often have a broader and more objective perspective, which can help them make informed decisions. The experienced may consider practical factors such as job stability, financial prospects, market demand, promotion opportunities, etc, ensuring that their bloodline has a safe life. However, in cases that this decision contradicts the youngster's will and values, there is high possibility that they feel cramped and bored. One day, their heart might live for younger days, regretting their youth. Therefore, a balanced approach is essential. Parents should engage in open conversations with their children, discussing potential career paths, opportunities, and challenges altogether.

To conclude, I firmly believe that young people should have the freedom to explore their interests and passions. However, parental guidance can provide valuable insights. It is best that young adults actively participate in shaping their professional future with the elder’s wisdom as well as practical considerations.

CORRECTION

Opting for a profession is always a decision that carries weight in one's life, especially for those at the threshold of stepping into society.

When the young reach the point that they have to choose a profession that could be their livelihood, people have many viewpoints. Although many people have the opinion that young people should take the initiative and decide their careers, others argue that it will be better if the decision is made by their parents. From my standpoint, I'm firmly supportive of the former estimation.

On one hand, there are many plausible reasons for the belief that parents should be the decision-makers. One of the most mainstream causes is that it reduces a significant amount of pressure on children. Choosing a profession is a consequential verdict, especially during the application times. Many teens may feel lost and unsure about their conclusions. Parents' resolution at this point is tremendously useful and helps untangle the knot of confusion of their children, thereby decreasing the pressure they have to endure. Moreover, guardians are more experienced and clear-minded about various career paths and I can steer teenagers in the right direction, which will be beneficial in the long run.

On the other hand, many teenagers and parents are leaning towards letting the youngsters choose the profession themselves. They believed that teenagers are about to enter adulthood, and in the process of growing into one have attained enough experience and passion to select a career that is suitable for them. In addition, teens themselves are the ones who have the most thorough insights into their weaknesses, strengths, and interests that their parents cannot fully grasp. These perceptions are valuable when choosing a career.

In my perspective, children should be able to decide their line of work since it is an extremely significant decision. Firstly, being able to choose their career encourages self-reliance when choosing an option that will determine the outcome of their future, the child will grow to be more confident about their decision-making and learn to accept risks and even failures which are two crucial aspects of work life. Additionally, letting them select their favorite occupation also promotes work satisfaction as being able to do the job that they want contributes to this phenomenon. Furthermore, when allowed to pursue the career that they are passionate about, children will be encouraged to thrive and attain achievements in work.

In conclusion, parents should act as an advisor for their children and give them sound instruction yet give them the freedom to choose their future occupation.

CORRECTION

When the young reach the point that they have to choose a profession that could be their livelihood, people have many viewpoints. To achieve this, adolescents should know what the mandatory obligations are. Sometimes, due to the variety of options available in the professional world, youngsters may seek advice on which field they should pursue. However, children often have their own interests from childhood, which could lead them to select their actual occupation. My opinion will be discussed with real-life examples.

To begin with, most learners develop their preferences while they are in school, where they also develop strategies to accomplish their goals. The level of confidence and determination always makes it possible for anyone to choose their career independently. For example, adults can make decisions about their line of business once they have a true passion for it, often turning into skilled workers. In fact, if parents put too much pressure on their children, the children might not engage with enthusiasm, making the work feel monotonous.

On the contrary, parents can play a significant role in enhancing their children’s careers. With their ample life and work experience, parents can guide their kids in selecting the proper careers by highlighting the real aspects of the work. For instance, parents can provide advice and support to help their children develop their professional paths.

To summarize, young people should always explore various opportunities before deciding on a profession. They can also seek counsel from their parents or even siblings, who are likely more knowledgeable. However, families should not burden the youth with their own preferred choices. Encouraging exploration and providing guidance without imposing preferences allows young people to find their true calling, ensuring they engage in their work with passion and dedication.

In conclusion, while it is crucial for youth to become experts in their chosen fields, the process should involve a balance of personal interest and external guidance. This balanced approach ensures a fulfilling and successful professional journey. => ACCEPTABLE

part 1:

The line chart depicts the amount => number of people who smokes => smoke per 1000 people in Someland between 1960 to 2000. Overall, the general male population smoked more than the female population, and people are smoking less over time. In 1960, a peak was recorded in the smoking males => male population at 600 persons, while the female population was at its lowest, having less than 100 people,. this => This means that in that year men who smokes outnumbered women who smokes at a ratio of 6 to 1. The next point of interest of the timeline is in 1975, in 15 year =>years the male population that smoked had been on a notable decline, only at 500 per 1000, while the female population saw a peak in smokers at 300 per 1000. After 1985, the general population of smokers declined slowly but surely, in 2000 the male smoking rate has declined => declined significantly at => to only 250 per 1000 compared to 600 in 1960, though. Though the female population has decreased, it is still at a worrying 200 per 1000 compared to less than 100 per 1000 in 1960.

part2:

In today’s rapidly evolving world, the question of whether young people should independently select their professions or rely on parental guidance remains a topic of debate. While some argue that parents should play a decisive role in career choices, I firmly believe that young individuals should have the autonomy to decide their own paths. Let’s explore both perspectives.

To start, we must discuss this dilemma from the perspective of parents. Advocates of parental influence argue that parents possess experience and wisdom, making them better suited to guide their children towards suitable careers. They believe that parents can offer insights into various professions, helping their children avoid potential mistakes and make informed decisions. For example, parents who have worked in medicine might encourage their child to pursue a similar career path, believing it to be a stable and respected field.

In contrast, supporters of individual choice emphasize that each person has unique abilities, passions, and aspirations. They argue that young people are more in touch with their own interests and talents, allowing them to make original decisions. For instance, a teenager passionate about art may find fulfillment as a graphic designer, even if their parents push for a more conventional career.

In my personal opinion, when young people choose their professions, they align their career paths with their innate skills. For instance, a math enthusiast is more likely to thrive as an engineer than someone who struggles with numbers. Furthermore, pressuring young people into specific careers can lead to resentment and regret. For example, someone forced into medicine by their father could later realize their true passion lay in teaching, causing frustration. Moreover, research shows that individuals who make their own career choices experience greater satisfaction and lower rates of anxiety and depression. Conversely, those coerced into professions often suffer emotionally.

In conclusion, while parental guidance is valuable, young people should ultimately decide their own professional paths. By doing so, they can pursue fulfilling careers that align with their abilities and aspirations, leading to greater happiness and well-being.
