When I open my binder I see a blur of colors, pencils and paper. I see sharpies, pencils, and pens, that sometime leak ink accidentally. I can also find maps, and pencils that have vibrant colors. The tabs on the side allow me to know which class I'm exploring at the moment. There are gum wrappers, paper wads, and notecards that you can find if you unzip my pencil pouch that has the word “supplies” scribbled on it. There are sharpie drawings that leached through my paper. You can also find homework that was do yesterday, but that isn't the homework you are looking for. The homework you are looking for is in the wrong section, so you tell the teacher you don't have it, and then you find it next class. On the side is the thing that says this messiness is mine, my name.

                                                      Team

It was early in the morning, I had my football pants on and I was waiting for my dad to get the keys, so we could leave. The early morning fog was still outside, and the air was cold. My dad had finally gotten the keysThe and we were ready to go, the destination was CPA,my school, once we arrived I hugged my dad and got on the half full bus with my teammates and two of our coaches, coach Burt and Coach tony. When the bus was full we started our two our journey to Chattanooga, it was a journey filled with laughter and excitement, and most of all nervousness. Once we arrived at McCallie we got off the bus and went to the football field to walk around and get our legs stretched out. After we warmed up our legs, we went into the locker room to get our pads on and cool off, there were lots of nerves, after all we were about to play a football game. Our coach gave us a good devotional and pep talk, and then we went on to the field and got into our stretching lines. When we were all warmed up the captains, Bo Chance, Ryan Gregory, and I , went to the fifty yard line and shook hands with the officials and the other team's captains, and then we were ready to play. As soon as the ball was kicked all of the nerves were gone and were replaced by adrenaline. At half time we went into the locker room down by one touchdown, and tired sweaty and banged up. Some moms had bought us Powerade to help us get some energy. When the coach came into the locker room he told us to take our pads off, which we never did at half time. After half time we went back onto the field and started the second half. On our second offensive drive we scored a touchdown, but our center was on the ground screaming “my leg!” We later found out that he had broken his leg in two spots, and was going to be in a wheelchair for eight weeks. Without our center we made several terrible mistakes and McCallie ended up coming back and beating us, but it was a fun game and lots of people got a chance to play. I can't wait to play the in high school because I know that it will be a fun, close game. Overall it was an awesome

weekend that I will never forget because I bonded with all of my teammates.

You Can Be Little And Be Brave

Many people have heard the phrase you can’t judge a book by its cover, but I think it should be you can’t judge a person by their size. I believe that no matter what size you are, you can be brave. I do not think that people should be judged by their size. In 2008, when my sister was not even one we noticed something was wrong with her ankles. So my parents decided to take my sister to the doctor who said we needed to go to the hospital. After several months of constant hospital visits, we got a call from the doctor at the hospital saying they had a diagnosis.

In 2009 my one year old sister Madeline was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis or JRA for short. It is a disease that attacks you joint and causes pain in them. Right now there are no cures for JRA; there are just medicines for relieving pain and swelling, but her body could eventually fight off the disease .The first year we didn't know if Madeline would ever walk normally, and then we were introduced to Doctor Graham. Doctor graham saw Madeline every three months, and every time she was excited to go. Doctor Graham was like the Michael Jordan of doctors. Unfortunately, Madeline’s arthritis continued to progress and hurt worse. Doctor Graham, being the doctor that he is, put her on a medication that requires an infusion. Once a month, she has to have an IV put into her arm for an hour, and she doesn't even flinch, when most nine year olds would scream and cry.

Madeline’s disease is usually found in elderly adults who will never be cured. However, because of Madeline young age, she could overcome this disease by the age of eighteen but if she has not been cured by then, she will have to live the rest of her life with.

Although I didn’t know why, I darted away from the scene, afraid he was calling the cops to come arrest me. I have always been careful who I tell my story to after that incident. I have been on the run from the cops ever since I answered his question of “where are your parent.”
