In the 1950's natural fibers like linen, cotton, wool, and silk were used. As for fabrics, nylon, rayon, and poly-cotton were often used.Men during this time usually dressed more formal compared to today. The most popular styles that were used were buttoned shirts, polo shirts, and slacks that fitted at the natural waist. Most of the fashion during this time period consisted of Blocky shift dresses and mini skirts that de-emphasized a woman's figure, high necklines, sleeveless cuts, bright solid colors, bell bottoms, mini skirts, drainpipe jeans and capri pants, and more. Men usually wore slim-fit trousers, a button-down shirt or polo shirt, and a patterned sport coat. Fabrics like nylon, corfam, orlon, terylene, lurex and spandex were known as cheap, easy to dry, and wrinkle-free. These fabrics allowed space age fashion designers to design garments with bold shapes and a plastic texture.</div>]]></description>

Some key items that the decade is known for are earthy tones, suede, bell-bottom pants, fringing, and high-waisted designs.Some of the major fabrics used to create clothing in the 1970s were heavy crepes, wool jersey-knits, courtelle jersey, and woven polyesters.A lot of the clothing in the 1970s were made out of a lot of bold bright colored clothing.</div>]]></description>

The early 2000's were somewhat of a questionable time when it came to fashion. During this time, many TV shows and movies influenced the fashion community or in other words, these TV shows and movies set the fashion trends.Several fabrics were used to manufacture </div><div>the signature style in the 2000s. </div><div>To establish the casual style of clothes, </div><div>cotton and linen were most widely used. </div><div>An variety of denim shades, from white to </div><div>nearly black and all in between, were also used. </div><div>Silk was used for </div><div>dresses and shirt-like long tunics.There was an explosion </div><div>in color in the 2000's. </div><div>Shades of lime, yellow, peach, pink, deep </div><div>red, orange were widely worn in spring. </div><div>Shades of light purple and blue </div><div>were worn a lot in the summer. </div><div>In trousers, shades </div><div>of blue were popular.Layered tank tops, off the shoulder shirts, Juicy Couture tracksuits, rhinestone sports style apparel, </div><div>baggy trousers, flared denim, denim skirts, and polo shirts were some common apparel trends. </div><div>Leggings often came back usually being combined </div><div>with layered tank tops or long tunics.<br>Celebrities such as Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie </div><div>were style icons instead of models being fashion trendsetters. </div><div>Shows such as Friends and SATC, "Sex and The City," </div><div>were still strong and inspired the style.</div>]]></description>
