I have used this phrase. I think sometimes students need to know we are disappointed in something they may have done??

#7 can be tough. I try to be direct and address the class as a group.

I have also said this to students, and my own children before. I don't think I over use it, or say it a lot. I do like how the article focuses on the positive and looking at what the child could do differently next time.
I think many of us say that as well. :)

I am guilty of this one for sure! Even after reading the article I caught myself saying it in a few classes that I was teaching a lesson in. This will take a conscious effort to stop doing!
