         <description><![CDATA[<div>The family <em>Cranchiidae</em> has two subfamilies, one of which is <em>Taoniinae</em>, that houses genus <em>Mesonychoteuthis</em> as well as many others including:<br><strong>Genus </strong><strong><em>Taonius</em></strong><strong> with three recognized species</strong><br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;- <em>Taonius borealis </em><br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;- <em>Taonius belone </em><br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;- <em>Taonius pavo </em><br>All three are commonly referred to as glass squid.<br>All the specimens are considered squid and have similar biology: Mantle, tentacles, arms, suckers, eyes.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The order Oegopsida is one of two in the superorder Decapodiformes, and has 24 families and 64 genera. <br>Organisms in the order include those from family Cranchiidae as well as:<br><strong>Under Family Ancistrocheiridae:</strong><br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;* This family and the included genus has one recognized species, the <em>Ancistrocheirus lesueurii</em>. (Sharpear enope squid)<br><strong>Under Family Architeuthidae:</strong><br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;* This family has a complicated list of proposed species, however, the distinction between them is so debated there could be as many as 17 or as few as 1. One recognized species is <em>Architeuthis dux. </em>(Giant Squid)<br><strong>Under Family Bathyteuthis:</strong><br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;* Inside this family there is one recognized genus, with three recognized species inside:<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;- <em>Bathyteuthis abyssicola </em>(Deep Sea Squid)<em><br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;- Bathyteuthis bacidifera </em>(Deep Sea Squid)</div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;- <em>Bathyteuthis berryi </em>(Not listed)</div><div>They all have common physical characteristics of: A head without tentacle pockets, arms and the clubs of tentacles can have hooks, and the female oviducts are paired. They are also all squids, mostly pelagic but with some neritio-oceanic species.</div>]]></description>
