  • I obtained my bachelors degree from Southeast Missouri State University in December 2006.
  • My first job opportunity was a maternity leave position at Jackson High School in Jackson, MO where I taught High School Math.
  • In August 2007 I started working as a High School Math teacher at Kelly High School in Benton, MO.
  • In August 2008 I started working in the Chaffee R-2 School district and taught middle school math.  A few years later I moved up to high school math and that is where I have been every since.

     ]]>     2018-10-15 20:40:30 UTC https://padlet.com/mswinford/vq2f2g6b4s56/wish/293064056     Interesting Fact mswinford https://padlet.com/mswinford/vq2f2g6b4s56/wish/293066229 One thing that I am very passionate about is finding a cure for Alzheimer’s.  My grandmother passed away 5 years ago from this terrible disease.  My husband and I started a race in Chaffee, MO that consists of a 5K run or walk, Biathlon, and a Bike Ride.  All of the proceeds that are made from the race go to the Alzheimer’s Association.  This was our 5th year doing it and I am proud to say we have given over $50,000 to them in 5 years.  Having this passion helps me as a teacher because it gives me the hope and faith I need.  I know if I can organize a race that brings in 300 participants and 50 volunteers I can pretty much do anything I set my mind too.  Being one of the main people in control of this race also helps be the teacher that I am.  ]]> 2018-10-15 20:47:26 UTC https://padlet.com/mswinford/vq2f2g6b4s56/wish/293066229 Technology Use mswinford https://padlet.com/mswinford/vq2f2g6b4s56/wish/293069928 Personal: Technology is something that I use daily in my personal life. I use a cellphone to communicate with others. I also have a Facebook account that I use to stay in contact with people.  I use email on a daily basis.

    Professional:  Technology is something I also use on a daily basis in my classroom.  I use my school email to stay in contact with everyone in my school district.  We use calculators in my classroom almost every day.  We use Chromebooks once or twice a week in my classes to do IXL, which is a program that gives that students extra practice on content that they have already learned. We also use socrative every once in a while to take formative and summative assessments.
