Latil, Michel Parré, Gérard Tisserand et Christian Zeimert – ce dernier sera démissionnaire au bout dʼan – réactivent une forme collective issue du XIXe siècle, fondant une coopérative sous la forme dʼune association de type loi 1901, au sein de laquelle ils vont sʼemployer à produire une peinture politique et figurative dirigée contre la « Nouvelle Société » pompidolienne. Niant lʼindividualisme attaché à la figure romantique de lʼartiste solitaire, ces peintres produisent un art collectif, inscrit dans le quotidien et accessible sans intermédiaire, quʼils exposent dans des lieux non dédiés à lʼart et la culture, en le louant pour le soustraire au marché et pour se tenir à distance des institutions, comme lʼillustre leur participation, sous la forme dʼun décrochage/happening, à lʼexposition 72, 12 ans dʼart contemporain en France, organisée au Grand Palais, selon le vœu du président Pompidou" 
 Texte du Musée de Dole - la quasi totalité de la production des Malassis panneaux peints, sérigraphies, archives, est en dépôt dans ce musée. 
 Tous communistes et peintres figuratifs adeptes de l'aplat, ils s'engagent dans la Coopérative des Malassis, fondée par Gérard Tisserand sur le plateau des Malassis à Bagnolet en 1970, ainsi que dans un travail collectif où la part de chacun n'est pas facile à déterminer.

Lygia Clark recherche des processus interactifs avec le spectateur. Ceci l’a conduit à concevoir des objets utilisés comme moyen de communication. Les «lunettes» – (voir aussi «Máscaras sensoriais») – permettent d’affiner la vision et proposent une nouvelle façon de voir. Ce dispositif portable, place Lygia Clark en compagnie « des  chercheurs de perception ». Cela n’est pas sans compter sur l’aspect sensuel dû à la proximité avec le spectateur. Ces lunettes font partie du projet «Oculos.»
