Materials Needed: 

• A shoebox or a cardboard box (for the habitat) 

• Recycled materials (paper, bottle caps, cardboard, plastic) 

• Glue, tape, and scissors 

• Paints or markers for decoration 

• Small toys or drawings of animals 

Steps: 

1. Choose an Endangered Animal 
   Pick an endangered animal (e.g., a panda, tiger, sea turtle) and learn about its natural habitat. 

2. Research 
   Find out what the animal needs to survive: 

• Food (plants, other animals, fish, etc.) 

• Shelter (trees, caves, nests) 

• Water sources 

3. Plan Your Habitat 
   Think about how to include the animal’s needs in your model. 

• Draw a simple design of what your habitat will look like. 

4. Build the Habitat 

• Use the shoebox as the base. 

• Add plants, water, or shelters using recycled materials. 

• Decorate it to look like the animal’s real home. 

5. Add the Animal 

• Place a small toy or drawing of your chosen animal in the habitat. 

6. Prepare a Presentation: Pitch Your Habitat 

• Describe the needs of the endangered animal. 

• Explain how your model provides food, water, and shelter for the animal. 

• Share how your model can inspire real-world conservation designs. For example: 

• Could this habitat be used in a zoo, a wildlife park, or even in the wild? 

• How can people use the ideas in your model to help endangered animals? 

7. Pitch Your Idea 

• Imagine you are speaking to scientists or conservationists. 

• Present your habitat and explain why your design is useful for protecting the animal.

I made a shrimp, jellyfish, clownfish, crab, starfish, and an anglerfish. There is a coral reef too.

I even made the fish with a light on its head.This fish is called an anglerfish. Isn’t it cool.

So Vinuth created an elephant orphanage just like one he loved to visit every time when he go back to Sri Lanka.

I have visited the elephant orphanages in my country many times as I love them a lot. I created this habitat for elephants by providing their basic needs like water& food.
