At the start of the third bar, the electric guitar comes in. The backup vocals are brought in and out of the song from here. The drums are then introduced on the sixth bar where they use the brushes, and then the bass guitar on the next bar. All the instruments play softly together to match the vocals. The chorus is then played at the same level as the first verse, though at the end of the chorus the drums build up and the keyboard is introduced to the piece. The drums then change to use sticks instead of the brushes, which incorporates a little more of a rock style to the soft jazz piece. At this point, there is a short instrumental of all the instruments playing the chords together which lasts for four bars. The tambourine is added in for this part too. The verse then comes in using the same instruments, with both of the vocalists singing together. The keyboard and bass guitar are both using staccato at the end of each bar together for this section. Following the second verse, the instruments then diminuendo and the bass and electric guitars drop out so that the vocalizing is audible, with the piano playing softer here. This builds up again using the drums mostly, and the instruments crescendo into another in instrumental section where the tambourine is added in again. The electric guitar goes into a solo here, which lasts for sixteen bars before the focus is changed to the keyboard again. The keyboard builds up using chords, and then the dynamics drop again so that another short, soft section plays before going into an outro. The song ends with the notes of each instrument ringing out and a roll used on the ride of the drums.

Before we performed, we described the song as a soft jazz piece using some rock features throughout. I think we were representative of this in our performance, as the features such as the brushes, the chords and the instruments showed the jazz influence. We were given nothing to improve on, but I think adding in a section of jazz improvisation could have made the song even better and would further the use of jazz as our genre.

I think that my own strengths in the song were my use of staccato and legato alongside the keyboard. I also think that my timing of coming in and out of sections of the song's structure worked well. To improve, I would have liked to have an improvisation section where the instruments could interact more and change the focus, so that I could have a bass improvisation part. If we had more time, we would have added this into the song.

All in all, I think we gave a successful performance that incorporated the use of jazz and rock. I also think we made it enjoyable by suiting it to our own talents too, such as the use of the guitar solo which added creativity. Though this later developed into more of a jazz and rock fusion, where the drums play more of a rock pattern at the end and the electric guitar has a solo.

Another development was the use of dynamics and when to bring each instrument in and out so that the dynamics were at their best.
