Buddy Holly was more influential in rock and roll than Jerry Lee Lewis. Buddy Holly music reached audiences more especially with his song "Peggy Sue." Buddy Holly was on the charts as one of the greatest artists of the 1950s, and was also labeled as the "King of Rock and Roll." Jerry Lee Lewis is mainly focused on a piano hip hop music thats not fully associated with rock.

One thing I liked about his songs would be how they are more up beat and fun. I can catch the rhythm in his songs as they were instruments like the piano involved in the song as well which I found very interesting considering its a more up beat song.

This really helped bridge a cultural gap between people who saw music written by black artists as taboo and rock and roll music.

You could tell how his music affected rock and roll, while Pat Boone's songs are slower, Elvis had a strong, powerful voice in his songs and usually made faster music, but was versatile and could still make slower music.

And in some songs he also does bring out emotion in his song and it reachs also different audiences to and he still is popular to basically this day because of his songs. You can tell how his songs put a move on rock and roll. But he does also have slower music so it also gives the listner different types of music to listen to and thats what also makes him so bug

Elvis music was a better example of the Rock and Roll sound in the 1950's then Pat Boone was. An example of this is "Chain of Love" by Pat Boone is more of a slow song with not too many instruments being infused in the song. Unlike Elvis music "Blue Suede shoes" your focus is more focused on instruments than the actual lyrics. Elvis even to this day still is the person people mainly think of when you think about Rock and Roll.

Richie Valance did a better job representing Rock and Roll music than Chuck berry did. Because Richie Valance music was repetitive and catchy. For example "La Bamba" It was VERY repetitive, and continued to repeat the same two lyrics. on the other hand Chuck Berry did do a good job using his instruments to his benefit but he was telling more of a story that getting a catchy vibe.

I feel that Neil Sedaka was more of a pop and calm tone to his music, rather that Ike and Tina Turner had more of an upbeat high energy music. It also sounds like they used electric instruments when preforming.

His style of music where rockabilly, country and western, and rhythm and blues are blended/fused together is some of the early development of rock and roll. Holly was a great inspiration to other artists, he also was one of the first to play his own instrument, write his own material and develop as an arranger which really set the bar for other artists.

I chose the Drifters because in my opinion they did a better job displaying Rock and Roll in the 1960's. The Evelyn Brothers had more of a calm slow rhythm to them, for example "Let it be Me" It was really slow and you really didn't notice too much of the instruments being used. On the other hand the Drifters was more repetitive in their lyrics, and you were also able to notice the instruments being used in the background. An example of this is "There goes My Baby" It shows how they kept repeating the same fraze "there goes my baby" over and over again.

Sam Cooke "A Change is Gonna Come" This song even doing a good job telling a story but wasn't really showing how "Rock and Roll" was in the 1960's. On the other hand The Coasters used the wall of sound well in the song "Smokey Joe's Cafe" Even though they were telling a story in the song you can still hear how the instruments were one of the main parts of the song.

I believe Sam Cooke is the better choice because his voice sounds amazing and is also really smooth. His songs are filled with so much emotion, which makes them more appealing. He sang about love and real-life things that make his songs feel more meaningful.

No diss to Sam Cooke, he's still a good artist, it's just that the coasters are more iconic and have bigger hits than Sam, but other than that, I think they're pretty close.

I picked the Coasters because they have a more fun and powerful sound. And they also have that wall of sound that shows influence on Rock' n' Roll. Their voices are also very powerful and catchy, making their music fun to listen to.
