Finally, fully autonomous cars are something that have been sought after for many years and are currently being developed. One possibility it opens up is an end to, or at least a vast reduction in the need for, personal vehicle ownership. Instead, transportation could become almost exclusively a service, as it is now in the case of taxis, Uber/Lyft, and good old-fashioned mass transit.

The first 500-watt solar panels are just starting to hit the market, and the analysts suggest that this power level will be commonplace by mid-decade, while still costing the same as today’s standard 400-watt module, with pricing approaching $80 at 20¢/W.
This increases the availability of 500 watt solar panels for use of many devices and machines. Allowing technology such as robots and general electricity for housing to be available in solar options.

As society transitions from filing cabinets to databases the question of who is keeping information safe and how is becoming a reoccurring theme. The GDPR serves as a trial run for providing information privacy for users and consumers and while it is a good first stride, it has almost strengthened big tech companies by requiring too many regulation for small tech companies to afford to keep up with. While social media and connected devices continues to create new vulnerabilities such as manipulative propaganda, misinformation spreading and micro targeting, the debated between Government managed tech solution and Tech Company managed tech solutions has become controversial. While Government managed solutions could provide better national security and population tracking to provide needed services and resources, the government might not have the infrastructure to create as secure systems as big tech companies could. While big tech companies who are known for their tech, often have complete access to the information and are able to do what they will with the data. While nations are still trying to find the balance between security and globalism, it is clear that some nations are ahead of others. While Europe has been using tech that originates from many different places, they aren't as hesitant of application and services that are hosted from foreign countries. A converse example of Europes acceptance of foreign tech is Americas reaction to Tik Tok. As Tik Tok became popular with American users, America found a Chinese based tech companies app to be a threat to national security and banned it. Whether this was a form of Censorship backed by nationalism or a national security tactic is still up for debated. What is not up for debated is the lack of law and enforcement when it comes to data privacy and protection for users and consumers. While strides are being made for both Governments and Big Tech companies to be held accountable in the same manner, the proper legislature to handle the problems faced with the digital age will continue to develop and change as new problems arise.

Thanks for reading :D

https://engineering.stanford.edu/magazine/article/marietje-schaake-can-democracy-survive-digital-world

Smart homes have many components that make people’s lives easier. The major ones are lighting, climate, entertainment systems, and appliances. It may also include home security such as access control and alarm systems. The first major component is smart home lighting. Lighting can be controlled by either clapping or asking the smart home speaker system to control the lights. Most importantly, if one is already out of the house and they have forgotten to turn off lights in a certain part of the house, the lighting can be controlled from the phone. Another aspect is the smart home climate. This one just makes controlling the house climate much easier because it is connected to one’s phone. Smart kitchen appliances are becoming more high-tech day by day. Most of the high-tech kitchen appliances have touch screens controllers or some can be controlled through your phone. For example, there is a toaster that has a touch screen, and you can control the heat. Recently in the past couple of years we’ve had a couple of amazing high tech entertainment device. For example, Alexa Echo, is a voice service that can respond to any question you have. You can ask any type of questions, such as what the weather is like, or play a song. Our world is advancing and going far technology wise.

Groups like Deterrence Dispensed are bringing about an age of 'ghost guns' which can help keep the working class and the oppressed armed against government and corporate threats, and this sort of production-- as a subset of manufacturing technology becoming more widespread and less centralized-- points towards a great hope for the human future; one of entirely distributed, open-source means of production that cannot under any circumstances be centralized under a single power (sovereign or economic) again.

Spencer Simpson
