Assalamualaikum and hello! For week 1 we had two agendas which is to introduce ourselves and Sr. Aisyah (our naqibah for group 61) then proceed to tell and explain to us the adab of seeking knowledge. The taaruf session went fine and smoothly. Then, we proceed in the topic for week 1, the adab of seeking knowledge.

From Sr. Aisyah’s sharing, I understand that seeking knowledge needs sincerity, effort, and good manners so it becomes truly beneficial.

Adab in Seeking Knowledge teaches that learning is more than collecting facts! It is about sincerity, good character, and purpose. Students should observe outward manners like reviewing, taking notes, asking questions, and preparing, alongside inward manners such as sincere intention, clear goals, respect, and consistency.

The goal is to draw closer to Allah, not just gain worldly benefits. This aligns with the hadith that seeking knowledge leads to Paradise, reminding us that with the right intention and manners, learning becomes both worship and a means to success in this world and the Hereafter.

5 Pillars of Islam

Assalamualaikum and hello! For week 2, Sr. Aisyah shares about the 5 Pillars of Islam and Hadith Jibril. From Sr. Aisyah's sharing, I understand that the Hadith Jibril and the 5 Pillars of Islam give us a clear roadmap for living as a Muslim. In the hadith, when Jibril asked Prophet Muhammad ﷺ about Islam, he mentioned the five core practices: Shahadah (declaring faith in Allah and His Messenger), Salah (praying five times daily), Zakat (giving charity), Sawm (fasting during Ramadan), and Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah if able). These same practices are what we call the 5 Pillars of Islam.

Why are they so important? Because they’re like the foundation of a house. Without a strong foundation, the house can’t stand firm. Similarly, without these pillars, our faith becomes weak. Each pillar has a purpose:

✿ Shahadah reminds us of who we worship and why we live.

✿ Salah connects us to Allah every day and keeps our heart clean.

✿ Zakat teaches us generosity and care for others.

✿ Sawm trains us to be patient and self-controlled.

✿ Hajj unites us with Muslims around the world and strengthens our spiritual journey.

Both the hadith and the infographic show that Islam isn’t just about believing but it’s about practicing that belief in our daily life. When we follow these pillars, we’re not just fulfilling rituals but we’re shaping our character, helping others, and getting closer to Allah.

So, the conclusion is Islam gives us a beautiful and simple structure through these pillars, guiding us to live with faith, discipline, and compassion. It’s like a life compass that keeps us on the right path.

Assalamualaikum and hello! For week 3, Sr. Aisyah shares about the Pillars of Iman (Faith) from the Hadith Jibril. From her sharing, I understand that the first three pillars(belief in Allah, belief in angels, and belief in holy books)

are the foundation of a Muslim’s faith and guide us to live with awareness of Allah.

Sr. Aisyah explained that:

Belief in Allah means worshiping Him alone and strengthening our faith through prayer and reflection on the Qur’an.

Belief in angels reminds us that they carry out Allah’s commands and record our deeds, encouraging us to do good.

Belief in holy books teaches us to follow the guidance revealed in the Tawrat, Zabur, Injil, and the Qur’an.

✨ In conclusion, these pillars form the roots of our iman, shaping our purpose in life and reminding us to always stay connected to Allah.

After that, our usrah members (Tasnim, Ajmal, Syarifah, Sumaiyyah, and Yasmin) presented on “Why Our Iman is Always Tested?”. From their sharing, I learned that tests are not punishments but actually signs of Allah’s mercy. They help purify our sins, bring us closer to Allah, and show His love for us. The stories of Asiah, wife of Pharaoh, and Saidina Bilal remind us that patience and strong faith will always be rewarded by Allah.

✨ In conclusion, the tests we face are opportunities to grow stronger, increase our trust in Allah, and prepare our hearts for Jannah.

Three Important Pillars of Iman

Assalamualaikum and hello! For week 4, Sr. Aisyah shares about three important pillars of Iman:

1. Belief in Qada’ and Qadar (pre-destination)

2. Belief in Rasul and Anbiya’ (the messengers and prophets)

3. Belief in the Hereafter

From her sharing, I understand that these pillars shape how we view life, how we act, and how we prepare for the akhirah.

Belief in Qada’ and Qadar reminds us that everything happens by Allah’s knowledge, will, and decree. Nothing takes place without His permission, and He is the Creator of all things. This belief gives peace of mind, helps us stay humble, and strengthens our trust in Allah’s plan.

Belief in Rasul and Anbiya’ teaches that all prophets carried the same message: worship Allah alone. Rejecting even one prophet means rejecting them all. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, as the final messenger, was given unique blessings and serves as the best role model. From him we learn values like gratitude, patience, humility, kindness, and moderation in daily life.

Belief in the Hereafter reminds us that this world will end, all people will be resurrected, and every deed will be judged. The righteous will enter Paradise, while the wrongdoers will face punishment. This belief motivates us to do good, be patient in hardships, and live with both hope and fear of Allah, knowing that nothing is hidden from Him.

✨ In conclusion, these three pillars strengthen our iman by teaching us to trust Allah’s plan, follow the guidance of the prophets, and prepare ourselves for the Day of Judgment with sincerity and good deeds.

Assalamualaikum and hello! For week 5, Sr. Aisyah shares about two important aspects: Ihsan and Belief in the Day of Judgment.

Ihsan means doing good as though we see Allah, and even if we do not, knowing that He always sees us. It comes from the word hasana (goodness) and includes worship, noble character, and kindness in our dealings with others. The Qur’an commands both justice and Ihsan, showing that while justice is obligatory, Ihsan goes beyond it with compassion and sincerity.

Belief in the Day of Judgment reminds us that only Allah knows when it will happen, but He has given us many signs. The minor signs include the passing of the Prophet ﷺ and scholars, disobedience to parents, and widespread sins, while the major signs include the coming of Imam Mahdi, Dajjal, Ya’juj and Ma’juj, and the sun rising from the west. These signs remind us that this life is temporary and every deed will be judged.

✨ In conclusion, Sr. Aisyah’s sharing reminds us to live with Ihsan, always conscious of Allah, and to prepare for the Hereafter with good deeds and sincerity.

The games were really enjoyable, full of laughter, and helped everyone feel closer before starting the main session.

Then, Sr. Aisyah shared about Adab, what it means, why it is important, and how it shapes our character as Muslims. From the story of Prophet Ibrahim A.S. with his father, we learned how to speak with love, patience, and respect even when giving advice in difficult situations. We also learned about adab in friendship, such as avoiding gossip, forgiving one another, being cheerful, and treating friends with respect and humility.

🌸 In conclusion, this week’s session reminded us that adab is more than just manners it is a reflection of our akhlaq, and it strengthens our relationships with parents, friends, and ultimately with Allah. With good adab, knowledge becomes more meaningful, and our daily life gains blessings.

We also learned about Wuduk, covering its pillars, conditions, sunnah practices, and common issues, as purification is the key to accepted worship. In addition, Tayamum was briefly explained as an alternative when water is unavailable or harmful to use.

The session then emphasized Khusyu’, which means being fully focused, calm, and humble in solah, while realizing that we are standing before Allah. We learned about factors that disturb khusyu’, such as was-was and worldly distractions, as well as practical ways to achieve it, including proper preparation, understanding the recitations, praying on time, and minimizing unnecessary movements.

✨ In short, this topic reminds us that khusyu’ begins even before we start praying. By preparing ourselves physically, mentally, and spiritually, our solah becomes more meaningful, sincere, and closer to Allah.

Assalamualaikum and hello!

For Week 4, Sr. Nasuha shared about the Virtues Found in Salah with Khushu', highlighting how prayer with true focus and humility shapes our character and strengthens our relationship with Allah.

We reflected on the meaning of khushu’ in prayer, which goes beyond physical movements. It involves the presence of heart and mind before Allah, calmness, humility, and full attentiveness. Through khushu', salah becomes a powerful means to build strong akhlaq, strengthen iman, and prevent sinful behaviour, as mentioned in the Qur’an that success belongs to those who are humble in their prayers.

The session also explained how Salah with khushu’ nurtures important Islamic values such as al-Ta‘ah (obedience and loyalty to Allah), al-Jihad (striving against one’s nafs and distractions), muhasabah (self-reflection), iffah (modesty and self-restraint), and tawaddu‘ (humility). Each of these values is trained through consistent and mindful prayer, especially during moments like sujud, where a servant is closest to Allah.

✨ In short, khushu’ is the soul of salah. When prayer is performed with sincerity and awareness, it does not only fulfill an obligation, but transforms the heart, shapes our character, and guides our actions in daily life.

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone!

For our usrah assignment, my group (Adlin, Uzma and I) chose the topic “The benefits of practicing good amal” and presented it as a video.

Each of us researched different parts of the topic. Adlin focused on the meaning of good amal, a hadith, and one benefit, while Uzma and I each found two benefits.

My role was to explain my two benefits clearly and coordinate the script using the information everyone found. We then planned and recorded the video together, and Adlin edited it 🥰

That's all from me. Thank you!

Assalamualaikum and hello!

For Week 5, we learned about Fasting & Its Virtues and how it helps us grow closer to Allah.

The session started with Al-Baqarah: 183:

"O believers! Fasting is prescribed for you—as it was for those before you—so perhaps you will become mindful of Allah."

Fasting shows our faith and responsibility. It has been done by previous nations to guide us.Taqwa means being careful and mindful of Allah in everything we do.

Virtues of Fasting:

Sabr (Patience) – controlling hunger, desires, and avoiding sin.

Levels of Fasting – from avoiding food/drink, to controlling actions, to guarding the heart.

Rahmah (Mercy & Empathy) – feel for the poor and help others; giving iftar earns reward too.

✨ In short, fasting isn’t just about food.
The Virtues Found In Zakah and Sadaqah

Assalamualaikum and hello!

For Week 6, we learned about The Virtues Found in Zakah and Sadaqah and how they strengthen both our faith and social responsibility.

We began by understanding Zakah as one of the pillars of Islam, which is obligatory and meant to purify wealth and nurture righteous Muslims who contribute to the well-being of society. Linguistically, zakah means growth, purification, and blessing, while technically it refers to a specific portion of wealth prescribed by Allah to be given to deserving recipients. This shows that ibadah in Islam includes not only spiritual acts, but also social and material responsibilities.

The session highlighted the importance of Zakah, as it is mentioned alongside prayer in the Qur’an and listed as the third pillar of Islam in the Hadith of Jibril. We also learned the difference between zakah and sadaqah, where zakah is compulsory and structured, while sadaqah is voluntary and flexible.

Two key virtues of zakah were emphasized:

Tawakkul – relying fully on Allah by giving wealth for His sake.

Ukhuwwah – strengthening brotherhood, empathy, and unity within the community.

✨ In short, zakah purifies wealth and the heart, strengthens trust in Allah, and builds compassion and unity among Muslims.

May it remain a supportive space for learning and mutual reminders.

Reflection Section
Through the usrah sessions in Semester 2, I learned that consistency, sincerity, and self-reflection are important in practicing Islam. The discussions encouraged me to be more mindful of Allah in my daily actions.

Improvement Suggestion
I suggest having more interactive discussions or sharing sessions. This can help members relate the lessons to real-life situations and increase participation.
