We are excited to share that our annual Sandfield Sports Day will take place on Friday 5th June (weather permitting), once again at the Guildford Cricket Ground, Woodbridge Road.

This is a wonderful whole-school event and promises to be a fun celebration of sport, teamwork and participation.

Each phase group will have their moment to shine on the track, followed by a rotation of exciting field activities, including:

· Jumping

· Throwing

· Skipping

· Egg and spoon races

· Obstacle races

It’s always a fantastic morning filled with energy, encouragement and school spirit!

Children should be dropped off at the Cricket Club at the usual time of 8:45am, and we will remain at the venue for the entire morning.

Families are warmly invited to come along, support, and enjoy the event with us as we celebrate Sandfield sport together. The morning finishes with a whole school picnic, before we head back to school.

It was night time in the Reception supermarket when strange crashes and bangs were heard.

By morning, the children found chaos everywhere: tricks, messes, and even an upside down classroom! There was only one culprit… Evil Pea!

The children had a brilliant week making Wanted posters and creating their own Superhero Veggies to stop his mischief.

PE day for Reception Class is on Mondays 

Year 1 and Year 2 have been busy creating and innovating their own stories about Paddington.

They worked brilliantly to edit their writing and confidently read their stories aloud to their friends. All of their wonderful stories can be found on Seesaw — have a read and enjoy discovering what Paddington has been getting up to!

PE days for Year 1 & Year 2 are on Mondays and Wednesdays 

Students in Years 3 and 4 have been applying their knowledge of Ancient Egypt and the River Nile by designing and creating their own shaduf prototypes.

Throughout the day, they worked enthusiastically and creatively, using what they have learned in class to bring their ideas to life. The children thoroughly enjoyed this exciting hands-on experience and are now looking forward to building and testing their real models on the River Nile next week.

Our Year 6 pupils tackled their SATs with fantastic positivity, starting each morning with breakfast together. They worked incredibly hard all week and we couldn’t be prouder of their attitude and determination. 

Thanks to the reading paper, they’re now unofficial specialists in baby‑owl rescues! We’re very grateful to the parents who joined us bright and early to support the breakfast sessions.

Please can we advise parents that the order closing date for both the Class Photo and Year 6 Leaver Photo is 30th May.

Any orders placed after this date will incur a £5 late fee.

All orders to be placed online directly with the photographer.

Year 6

Reminder - on 21st May - lunch for Year 6 is provided by Surrey Maths School. All meals options chosen have been defaulted to packed lunch from home and you will receive a refund for any lunch prebooked.

Year 4

Reminder - If you normally order a school lunch on Thursdays and Fridays, please ensure that you order a school packed lunch for both days instead. If you usually provide a packed lunch for your child, you can either order a school packed lunch for the Friday or ensure that one is brought into school on Friday morning by 8.30am (in disposable packaging). Any hot meals ordered on these days automatically default to a Cheese Baguette so please ensure that you change these meals in advance.

Sandfield PTA - Sandfest

As we get ready for SandFEST on Saturday 20th June, we’re looking for *bands, musicians, performers or acts* who might like to be part of the day.
Music and performances are such a big part of creating the SandFEST atmosphere, so we’d love to hear from anyone in our school community who:

🎤 Is in a band or music group
🎸 Plays acoustic music or performs
💃 Runs or is part of a dance, drama or performance group
🥁 Knows a local band, performer or group who may be interested
🎛️ Has experience with sound engineering
🔊 Has access to a sound system suitable for live music/bands

SandFEST is a lovely family-friendly event, and it would be wonderful to showcase hidden talent from our school community or local area.

We are delighted to share that Mila recently competed in her very first Spring Sprints as a member of the Godalming Swimming Club squad—and what an incredible debut it was!

Mila achieved:

🥇 1st place in front crawl

🥈 2nd place in breaststroke

🥉 3rd place in the 100m event

She was immensely proud of her achievements and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It’s fantastic to see such dedication and enthusiasm rewarded—well done, Mila!
