The first way being that if their child actually tries their best and is constantly working than they should handle it respectfully. The parents should congratulate their child on their hard work and ask if they need extra help, maybe offer them a tutor. The second way is in a discipline manor. Both of my parents are protective over me, especially my mom. My mom wouldn't let me sit on the front porch by myself until I was 15. My dad isnt as protective as my mom but he has his boundaries.
