There are many wild animals in the forests like tigers, elephants, Lion, Hyena, deer and many more. The animals aren't wild, they just are forced to be wild. They never wanted to be violent, they just wanted to live their life to the fullest. We cruel humans just want fame and money. We don't want any life to live. They have emotions but they don't show it. They are smarter than us but they think we are.

A mother tigress lurks in the shadows,
Hunting prey for her cubs.
But when she returns to feed them her kill,
She finds them seized by thugs.

She picks up their faint whiff,
And stealthily follows their trail,
Until she sees them caged in a van,
And all she is left with, is their wails.

She runs behind the van,
Going faster than she ever has.
But the van, swift and slick,
Pummels her face with gas.

Still she perseveres,
But to no avail.
And in the end she ceases her chase,
And a deep breath, inhales.

The next day she wakes,
And hunts as is usual.
But what is this! That same van...
Is her mind delusional?

She takes a step forward,
And falls into a pit.
She is drugged and put to sleep,
Her own little world shifts.

She wakes up in new terrain,
And again smells her cubs.
With joy so remarkably genuine,
Once again she runs to the ones she loves.

At last they are reunited,
But the familiar angle has changed.
At least they are not mistreated,
Though hope of freedom they retain.

They are daily visited and fed ,
Otherwise left to do as they please.
After a year of imprisonment,
A plan they make with expertise.

One fine day,
They run to the horizon.
Stretching their legs after forever,
They chase the setting sun.

But the merciless van soon catches up,
And once again they travel.
But not to that horrid old place,
Instead to a familiarity, surrounded by known mammals.

They are being set free!
And none of them can believe it.
They enjoy the rest of their life in bliss,
But we must remember that, not every animal,
To this glorious fate is permit.

The legendary Tiger Tank family, whose lineage rules a large part of Kabini’s tourism zone began with a tigress called the Tiger Tank Female. Her litter of 3 cubs, probably born in July 2015, were first sighted by the Forest Department patrol vehicles in October 2015, in a little part of the forest called Burning Place. Just 3 months old, a litter of two females and a male, they were already the hopes for the future of Tiger sightings in Kabini. Only time would tell if they were ready to take on the mantle of the throne that their mother currently commanded.

The seasons flew by and what were once three chubby cubs gambolling about in their mother’s wake, had grown to be gorgeous, resplendent tigers who were viewed as a visual delight by every tourist who had caught a glimpse of the reigning dynasty of Kabini. The scene was set for these three tigers of Kabini to take over the range previously controlled by their mother, so it was extremely unfortunate when one of the female tigers died to electrocution near the Backwaters in 2018.

The surviving tigers from the litter are now named the Tiger Tank Female and the Tiger Tank Male. Bold, brave and brawny, they are magnificent Kabini tigers, often sighted by tourists. Though their mother is no longer sighted, these tigers look set to control the park for years to come.

The Backwater Family (Prominent lineage of the Tigers of Kabini)

The original Backwater Female tigress gave birth to a litter of two female cubs, around the same time Kabini saw a spike in Tiger sightings, around mid-2014. The cubs probably parted ways a year or so later, with one of the female cubs rumoured to have crossed the Kabini River, over to the Bandipur side to establish a home range of her own, while her sister took over the areas previously controlled by her mother.

The original Backwater Female had another litter of four cubs but unfortunately died soon after due to a tranquillizer overdose apparently. The cubs were never seen again, while her daughter from the first litter has taken on her name as the Backwater Female of Kabini.

For more than 1,000 years the use of tiger parts has been included in the traditional Chinese medicine regimen. Because of the tiger’s strength and mythical power, the Chinese culture believes that the tiger has medicinal qualities, which helps treat chronic ailments, cure disease and replenish the body’s essential energy.

Endangered tiger parts such as bones, eyes, whiskers and teeth are used to treat ailments and disease ranging from insomnia and malaria, to meningitis and bad skin. Chinese texts state that the active ingredients in tiger bone; calcium and protein, which help promote healing, have anti-inflammatory properties.

Western medical experts tend to discount all claims of any curative power in tiger bone, as they do the rhinoceros horn, another popular Chinese medicine. And, it is well known that aspirin contains similar properties and produces the many of the same results as tiger prescriptions in patients. There are plenty of other medicines that can help solve these issues. For example, for insomnia people usually use sleeping aids from a pharmacy. There are also people who are use CBD to help with their insomnia.

Despite this, in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Vietnam and in Chinatowns across Europe and North America, Chinese medicine stores do a steady trade in tiger wines, powder, tiger balms and tiger pills. Many Asian communities believe that tiger bone, in powdered form or prepared as, “tiger wine,” soothes rheumatic pain and cures ulcers, malaria and burns.

These derivatives make international trade and consumption possible in the wake of the, Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) treaty because they are not easily recognizable as tiger parts.

In recent years there has also been a resurgence of interest in traditional values and cures derived from nature in Chinese culture. Thus, the use of endangered tiger parts for medicinal properties is seen as a status symbol, a way to retain customs amid rapid change and as an alternative to the shortcomings of western medicine.

The Chinese culture believes that nearly all parts of the tiger can be used to derive some medicinal cure for any number of ailments. Here are some examples of how tiger parts and their derivatives are used in traditional Chinese medicine and causing the tiger to be a critically endangered species:

Tiger claws: used as a sedative for insomnia

Teeth: used to treat fever

Fat: used to treat leprosy and rheumatism

Nose leather: used to treat superficial wounds such as bites

Tiger bone: used as an anti-inflammatory drug to treat rheumatism and arthritis, general weakness, headaches, stiffness or paralysis in lower back and legs and dysentery

Eyeballs: used to treat epilepsy and malaria

Tail: used to treat skin diseases

Bile: used to treat convulsions in children associated with meningitis

Whiskers: used to treat toothaches

Brain: used to treat laziness and pimples

🤬: used in love potions such as tiger soup, as an aphrodisiac

Dung or feces: used to treat boils, hemorrhoids and cure alcoholism

Fortunately, there are viable natural alternatives for those seeking traditional Chinese medicines to treat ailments and disease without using tiger derivatives.
