         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the late 1500s, Europeans discovered that when they look at things using several glass lenses, you could magnify small objects. The first official microscope was invented by Zacharias Janssen in the 1600s. In 1665, Robert Hooke used an early microscope to look at a nonliving thin slice of cork. As time passed, people developed better microscopes using their technology and lead to the microscopes we use today.</div>]]></description>
