         <description><![CDATA[<div>From 1914-1917 (when the US remained neutral), the US received orders from Britain and France for war supplies, which allowed their economy to flourish from its recession in 1914. The U.S. was mainly aiding the Allied Powers because the U.S. was restricted from giving supplies to Germany because of the British and German naval blockades. <br>U.S. bankers (such as J.P. Morgan) sometimes gave loans to Britain and France (for a total of $3 billion), which helped the U.S. prosper even more.</div>]]></description>
