In Greek mythology, Niobe was the daughter of a ruler named Tantalus. Niobe had many kids and would brag about them to titan leto who later made Apollo and Artemis kill all of them. Niobe mourned the death of her children. This comparison helps allude to how Hamlet feels about his uncle due to the fact that satyrs are often associated with promiscuity and lust. In Beauty and The Beast, as Gaston is getting the village ready to go kill the beast he says, "Screw you courage to the sticking place."
