Summary

The 1970s marked the first time where the majority of the racial barriers had been broken and the theme of equality was no longer a goal but a reality. In the 1960s the Black panther party fought to gain rights for african americans, and with help from other civil rights leaders such as Martin Luther king jr. would succeed. Once African AMericans gained civil rights an african american middle class began to form. Also, sport icons such as Muhammed Ali unified different cultures in america. AIM fought for native american civil rights throughout the 1970s in a more racial way. The 1970s was a huge transition era for the equality in all different racial groups which directly impacts how people in 2017 see past color. The country as a whole benefits from the tranquility and order associated with the destruction of racial barriers.
