I chose this photo as it is of me and my favorite teacher, Mr.P. He is someone who inspires me as he was a phenomenal teacher, and is someone who I think represents everything a teacher should be. My band director is someone who I tend to think back to frequently while in my educational classes. He graduated college fairly recently, which makes me believe he recently took similar courses to the ones I am in now. He is someone who represents everything a good teacher should be. He understands his craft and how to convey and teach it to students. But, what I think is more important, he knows how to connect with his students on a personal level. He takes time out of his day to talk to and bond with each of his students, insuring that they know that he is someone they can go to about anything. This is something I yearn to be able to do in my teacher identity. I want my students to know that I am someone they can go to with anything, that me and my classroom are a safe space.
