In the beginning of the story, the setting is in the house of Nobody and his family, where a man, Jack killed Nobody's family. When Nobody escapes the house he goes to the graveyard where he is hard to find from Jack. Later, Mr. Owens and Mrs. Owens decide to take care of nobody and adopt him.
Chapter 2:
The Scarlett and Nobody explore the  cave under the hill, where all, the old spirits where there from all the ancient times like the romans and the Celts.
Chapter 3:
 Many spirits want to see if Bod has a skills of a human or a ghost. So like the Duke of Westminister and his friends take Bod to the Goblin world in the city of Ghulheim to test out if Bod is a ghoul.         
Chapter 4:
The setting takes place in Potter's Field which is the other side of the graveyard. Chapter 3:
1. Silas leaves the cemetery for a month because he wants to explore life a little
2. Silas has Miss Lupescu watch  Nobody while she is gone.
3. Miss Lupescu and her friends show Nobody Goblin city and teach him how to be a goblin.
4. When Miss Lupescu and Nobody come back from Goblin City, they both realized that they had a great time.
5. Silas comes back from his trip and reunites with Nobody.
Chapter 4: 
6. Owens tells Nobody to keep away from that side of the wild where there was a witch buried at the end of the graveyard.
7. People at that side of the fence are bad people
8. Nobody goes over the fence and meets Liza the witch.
