The colour black (of the raven) could also symbolise emotions such as anger and sadness. This could mean the soldiers might be mad or sad about their current situation and about their fallen comrades.
Dolly Zoom: The dolly zoom in the scene where the raven enters the room could indicate that the guy that is being zoomed in on, has come back to the realisation of their current situation. After seeing the raven, the guy maybe had a feeling that felt kind of unreal to him.
High Angle Shot: The high angle shot in the first scene where the guy is looking up at the raven could mean that the guy is looking up towards death or maybe his comrades that have sadly passed away.
