The day I went to Auburn Avenue I saw the Mahatma Ghandi statue at the Martin Luther King Center. I learned that Mahatma Ghandi was a honored hero to India and changed it in many ways. I also saw the Walk Of Fame which represented the African American Heroes that died changing the world. We then went inside and looked at all the artifacts about Martin Luther King Jr. . Then we walked about 10 minutes to a museum and on the way there we saw a woman who was homeless and she was talking to her self and yelling. It made me realize that there are homeless and need help. I also saw a whole bunch of trash near alley way and it was very disgusting to walk by. This made me feel apologetic to the environment and how people treat it. It smelled like pee and weed. We then got to the Apex Museum and we watched 2 movies called The Journey, & Sweet Auburn. These movies made me feel sad for how we were made to come to America from Africa. I thought it was very cool how Auburn Avenue got it's name and it's history. We then looked at the pictures of the Apex Museum and we saw the African American Jazz artists. We then walked to the Auburn Market and just from 1 block away i could smell fresh food. I heard a lot of people talking and screaming about food and how they were very hungry. I smelled pizza, chicken wings, bread, & dirty water. That mixed up all together made that market stink well some of it. We went and found a place to sit then me and Trinity went & bought a Drink. Then we came to eat our lunch and after we ate me and Liya went to buy candy and then Mrs.Dinkins said we were walking out so that we could start our interviews. Esaius and I went to the Dominican Hair Salon to Interview the ladies there. We found out that they had been there for almost about 5 years now. They also said that they chose that specific spot because of how the neighborhood was black and it made them feel nice to be surrounded by a black community. The women also said that their disa

We took a field trip to Auburn Ave. It taught me a lot about the history of African Americans.
I visited the Martin King Jr. Center. I saw the Gandhi Statue, I can assume that it it there to signal non-violence and peaceful protest. I walked down the Civil Rights Walk of Fame, one that stood out to me was Maya Angelou's, I know her as a famous poet.I saw many barber shops and historically famous black churches, like Bethel Church.
I saw old brick buildings, some in good shape, others run down. I smelled cigarette smoke, car exhaust, wood, dust, fruit, meats, and some urine around buildings. I heard videos about Auburn Ave., that African Americans invented over 500+ everyday American products, George Washington Carver invented around 300 uses from peanuts. Also that African Americans as a people are ingenious.

Martin Luther king Jr. also created "I Have A Dream Speech". What made this street so famous was somehow during the great depression almost every business on the street was thriving.

Sweet Ol' Auburn Ave. (new and Improved)

Today we visited the historic auburn ave. This is a wonderful place to visit. Touching the statue of Mahatma Gandhi make me feel like the statue had so much meaning. I walked across the walk of fame. Ted Turner's footprint's told me he was not the only guy to something beneficial as an African American. The M.L.K center had posters from protests to represent that African Americans wanted to be integrated. I heard Jimmy Carter get interviewed by Bernice King. We then went to apex museum. At the apex museum their replica of the trolley car was very well designed. They turned it into a theater. On our way to the municipal market I could smell gasoline, barbecue, and syrup. I could tell that the businesses were making good progress. The food tasting so delicious like their candy and wings told me that the businesses knew how to improve on making their food because they knew the expectation of the food taste to make money. On our way back to the King center we could hear the streetcar bells ringing. We passed by Ebeneezer Baptist Church. That meant the old and the new one. I saw a very horrific image of the K.K.K hanging a black man on a tree and burning 3 crosses. Before we went home we got to interview 3 businesses about when they came and why they came and their disadvantages. The owners thought the streetcar took away from their business. The businesses came here because because of Georgia State being near. The businesses mostly came here between 2014 and 2016. This was an awesome field trip. My second time was better than the first.

yesterday The bad of Auburn ave was when we saw a lot of trash and when saw that homeless lady that make me feel bless. The good of Auburn ave is when we saw the church and we saw the stagle. and when the lady was talking about how slavery got ugly. they said afica is the riches country in the city some people from africa was taking from there home. and when we walk past the first afican american barber shop in 1945.Slavery in America began when the first African slaves were brought to the North American colony of Jamestown, Virginia, in 1619, to aid in the production of such lucrative crops as tobacco.I like when i ate a hamburger and fries and a sprite.Martin Luther King Jr. (1929-1968) was a Baptist minister and social activist who played a key role in the American civil rights movement from the mid-1950s until his assassination in 1968.

I learned a lot of things about the black history and culture of Auburn Avenue. I saw some really important things, such as the Civil Rights Walk of Fame, a Mahatma Gandhi statue, a clock stopped at the time of Martin Luther King's death and many more. I heard plenty of interesting things such as videos on segregation, the journey of Africa, and on the street and history of Auburn Avenue.I also heard a lady speaking in an African language. I heard lots of music, I heard jazz music, and a band. I smelled cigarette smoke, urine, and sewer.I got to touch the Mahatma Gandhi statue, and the Civil Rights Walk of Fame footprints. I tasted a cheeseburger and fries and it was actually pretty good even though some people had bad experiences.

Today at Auburn avenue was a bit of everything. I learned about the black culture and the importance of the culture .Here is the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of Sweet Auburn Avenue. There was a lot of good things that happened at Sweet Auburn Avenue today. First, I went to the Apex Museum and learned a lot about the African-American Culture, some I did not know. Next, I saw a statue of Gandhi. Then, I saw a footplate of President Jimmy Carter. I heard a man singing in the streets. I touched a wax statue of someone marching to freedom. I tasted a sandwich and chips. I heard a lady speaking in African. I also learned about the history of Auburn Avenue. These are the good things about Auburn Avenue. Here are the not so good things. I saw a Homeless person. I smelled cigarette smoke. I tasted something nasty most likely under-cooked food. I saw graffiti on the walls as I passed by them. Here is the ugly side of auburn avenue. I saw an alley full of trash with bugs flying around it. I heard a lady talking to herself. I smelled someone smoking a cigar. I saw graffiti on the wall some with, foul language. This trip made me feel more compassionate about the less-fortunate because their was a lot of people who were living on the streets in the cold weather outside. On our way back to the school, we stopped by MLK's house and saw his neighborhood one side of the neighborhood was 1-story houses, and the other side was 2-story houses. All in All this was a great trip to Sweet Auburn Avenue.
